I’m sorry, but these sorts of news stories really irk me. The link between the USCCB and this group is tenuous at best. And yet, the news story tries to paint it as though the bishops are in cahoots with those opposed to Catholic teaching.
 
By not detaching themselves from the CCHD, can’t you say there’s guilt by association? There should be news happening about conservative bishops calling others, or at least the head of it, to task for the USCCB supporting the CCHD, even after it still kept funding anti-Catholic teaching organizations once exposed. They think handling the sex abuse scandal was enough? How do they expect to attract converts when they let this and liturgical innovations go on? I’ve brought an Assemblies of God friend with me to Mass on a couple occasions and wish I hadn’t with the silly stuff they interject to provide a fuzzy feeling, just in case the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass feels too cold and impersonal to our entitlement-minded selves. Even jolly ol’ Pope John 23rd and St. Philip Neri didn’t play with the integrity of the Mass! St. Pius X, St. Jean Vianney and St. Alphonse Liguori and other holy clerics that meant business, pray for us! Oh yeah, I heard of the “Truce of '68.” To avoid a schism, they enabled a greater one: the irreligious “spiritual” types vs the religious, vs churchgoing cafeteria Catholics. It’s time they mean business before God does it for them.
 
And one would think that they have learned something after the sex scandals in the Church. what is it going to take for them to learn that the way they are doing things is not going to work?

they are just going to continue in disobedience to God. they disregard God’s laws to follow their own desires. that is why the Church is in such pain and sufferings.

i come to believe that as long as no bishop take a stand against others bishops who are in disobedience to God, and the Church, scandals will continue to occur. it appears that they are all in this together. that we have no good sheperd in the Church to stand against evil. no one to take a stand.
 
It can be done in charity, but it must be done. Sometimes, I think it’s only the Holy Spirit informing non-Catholics about what the Church is who brings them in, despite all this, though many mainline Protestant churches are further off the cliff. They don’t have the ability to transmit teachings from God as infallible dogma. The Holy Spirit will straighten things up sometime. We have to remain on the barque.

Interesting remark. Did you know that quite a few Assembly of God members convert to Catholicism? Jeff Cavins, a leading Catholic bible teacher and popular apologist was an Assembly of God pastor before he rebounded.
 
Cavins was just confused. He was a revert.
Focusing on the daith of my friend was beside the point.

Is the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights the CCHD?
Not that I don’t appreciate outspoken pro-true marriage and prolife bishops and the allowance of the Latin Mass by many of them, but I’ll have faith in them when the Mass is done by the rubrics, even in conservative bisops’ dioceses . It all starts there for most Catholics. If they can’t take the Mass seriously, they won’t take the Eucharist and the dogmas seriously unless they somehow already have the grace to believe in The Church created by Christ for all the rest of time.
