Thank you. I worry more about the people who don’t check their accounts often, or have autopay set up. For me it’s a nuisance. For some it may be a bigger problem. So let’s all pray for these people and also the perpetrators, that they find Christ in their lives and seek forgiveness for what they do. God Bless!

There are a lot of scam artists out there.

My 85 year old friend and her 86 year old husband were scammed out of $66,000 last fall and Chase Bank is denying they have any
culpability. Seniors are targeted by many scam artists. Her daughter has turned it over to a lawyer to take on the bank and see if they
can recover any money.

Yes, my dad had a couple of costly “investments.” An oil well investment where he lost $100k back in the 80s, and an annuity that had high fees that would eat up any potential return. That’s when I decided to learn about finances so I could be in control myself and not turn control of my money over to anybody.

Theirs was like a scam where they received a letter and were told if they sent an x amount of money they would get an x amount in return.
Sadly, the husband gave their bank and account number to the scammer who called their bank and withdrew the money. Their beef with the bank was that they should not have permitted such a large withdrawal transaction without double checking the identity of the person on the phone.

Seriously! Every time I call my bank they send a code to my phone and ask several questions to verify who I am. I would think Chase would do better!
