Scapular Medal

If I were a member of an OCDS community, I would be honored to wear either symbol of Carmelite devotion to Our Lady, though I find the brown scapular particularly special. Summers in the South can get mighty hot, Dorothy!
 
I don’t want to derail the thread, but I think this is directly related: I have heard that if one chooses to wear a medal than they have to get each medal thereafter “invested.” So, if one chooses cloth, they can replace the cloth as many times as they like without worry of this, but if they wear the medal then each medal needs to be “invested.” Can anyone clarify if this is accurate or applicable?

I, too, find the cloth brown scapular special and wear it even though I live in the south!
