Gregory the Great says that Moses had a prophetic vision of the past. This is in his commentary on Ezekiel. St. Thomas quotes him in the Summa, I 47. 2, or 46. 2.

Was St. Gregory the Great the first to say this or were there others before him (which is my guess)? However I have only read it in these two places.

Any help?

Also, what are the passages that teach Scripture has a spiritual sense?

Also, I have asked this before, is agape used in the the LXX?

What Hebbrew word does agape translate from the Hebrew?

Thanks!

I hope and pray that COPLAND 3 reads this.

A few examples where the NT interprets the OT on the spiritual level of meaning:

[1 Corinthians]
{5:7} Purge the old leaven, so that you may become the new bread, for you are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover, has now been immolated.
{5:8} And so, let us feast, not with the old leaven, not with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

{10:1} For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and they all went across the sea.
{10:2} And in Moses, they all were baptized, in the cloud and in the sea.
{10:3} And they all ate of the same spiritual food.
{10:4} And they all drank of the same spiritual drink. And so, they all were drinking of the spiritual rock seeking to obtain them; and that rock was Christ.

[Romans]
{5:14} Yet death reigned from Adam until Moses, even in those who have not sinned, in the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a figure of him who was to come.

[Hebrews]
{9:6} Yet truly, once such things were placed together, in the first part of the tabernacle, the priests were, indeed, continually entering, so as to carry out the duties of the sacrifices.
{9:7} But into the second part, once a year, the high priest alone entered, not without blood, which he offered on behalf of the neglectful offenses of himself and of the people.
{9:8} In this way, the Holy Spirit is signifying that the way to what is most holy was not yet made manifest, not while the first tabernacle was still standing.

[Matthew]
{21:42} Jesus said to them: “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone that the builders have rejected has become the cornerstone. By the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes?’
{21:43} Therefore, I say to you, that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and it shall be given to a people who shall produce its fruits.
{21:44} And whoever will have fallen on this stone shall be broken, yet truly, on whomever it shall fall, it will crush him.”

the word Agape and related words are used dozens of times in the LXX

2 Samuel 13:15
Ecclesiates 9:1,6
Songs of Solomon 2:4,5,7
3:5,10
5:8
7:6
8:4,6,7…etc

I can show the rest if you need

The word agape translates almost always from a form of אהב ‘ahăb
