Two sentences in the above mentioned article stand out:
  1. Several dozen Catholic parishes and schools participate in the annual South Side Irish Parade.
  2. Though the archdiocese did not take issue with the parade organizers about where funds are directed, they did state clearly the Catholic Church’s moral position on this kind of research: “No objective, even though noble in itself, such as a foreseeable advantage to science, to other human beings, or to society, can in any way justify experimentation on living human embryos or fetuses, whether viable or not, either inside or outside the mother’s body.”
Is the archdiocese sending a contradictory message or what?
