It’s a puzzle to me that you would be asking Catholics about Christian Science.
First thing I would advise is to google Christian Science, or go to your local library and really look into it if you want some intelligent, well-researched answers about it.
It’s perplexing that people would bother answering a question about something they know nothing about. Not one person that answered, said that they knew anything about it.
Seems like a lot of people judge and criticize without actually looking into or reading information on different religions and philosophies themselves. I see it so much all over the internet. And people spew out such hatred and antagonism, it’s mind boggling that they think that that sort of behavior is Christian. Jesus certainly wouldn’t have been like that.
Remember what Jesus said about judging lest you be judged? Or the Golden Rule?
Jesus also said to love one another, that’s not love at all.
You know, if more Christian groups really pay attention to the words and works of Jesus, and actually truly put them into practice themselves, they’d see that there isn’t as much of a gulf between them as they may think there is.
As the sayings go… “live and let live”… “love is the key” …
I’ve looked into different religions and philosophies, and find that many of them really aren’t as vile as so many people may think they are, or say they are. I tend to think that one of the reasons different ones are judged so badly is that they are judged by a handful of people that say they are part of the religion or philosophy, and either aren’t really, or are mere dabblers, or do not really read the texts of the religion thoroughly enough. Consequently they don’t represent it well and make it, or themselves, look bad.
You could say that Christian Science is very evil because of the children that have died under parental misuse, but from what I’ve read about it, those parents either weren’t aware that they actually could have taken their children to a doctor if need be, (which would mean that they actually didn’t thoroughly read their textbook, because they say it states in there somewhere that people can take something to calm pain, and even go to an MD if no cure is effected).
They say another reason could be that those parents just didn’t have the proper understanding of the religion, or weren’t elevated enough. I guess you really have to study it and have a good understanding of it, like you would for any subject in life in order to get the right results from it. Like mathematics for instance, you learn the rules of it, and then you can use it properly, same goes for music or any other subject.
I guess people would just have to look into it, to figure it out for themselves. Research it, if they really wanted some educated answers about it, like they would for any other topic.
