I was referring to St. Thomas. He didn’t believe until he put his finger in the nail holes and his hand in his side. That’s the “see” I’m referring to.
CERN is doing dangerous things with anti-matter and how to extract it.At one time computers with the abilities they have today were in the realm of science fiction, CERN being able to sent protons at the speed of light and smash them together would have been science fiction, etc etc.
Im sure in 100 , 500…1000yrs and beyond, there will be many common things/beliefs that were once viewed as only possible in science fiction but will become fully realized, furthermore what do you think DARPA and all these other super secret SAPs are working on, its stuff most of us would probably say is impossible or science fiction right now.
The same is true for our understanding of ‘the universe’(whatever that may be), every generation thinks they have it all figured out and are correct, but history proves them wrong time and again, we are no exception today, Im sure there will be plenty of things our experts are wrong about today, but will not realize that for many many decades or even centuries. The real truth could be something totally bizarre and unbelievable, nothing anyone has even theorized yet.
There is an ugly strand of anti-intellectualism alive and well in America… and it’s at odds with the Church which encourages and lauds the sciences.CAF , great for Scientist bashing too. Really Lion! Some of your comments.
I’m curious as to why it’s “dangerous”. It’s been produced in minute quantities (individual atoms) in particle accelerators like CERN for some time now, and can also be a natural component of radioactive decay and cosmic radiation.CERN is doing dangerous things with anti-matter and how to extract it.
I’ve heard they are becoming more efficient in their efforts to extract. I don’t think we know the full ramifications of anti-matter on a larger scale yet.I’m curious as to why it’s “dangerous”. Current estimations are that it would take CERN multiple millennia to produce so much as a nanogram of antihydrogen, the simplest complete atom of antimatter. Furthermore, it can only exist in extremely limited experimental environments - if released into the atmosphere, it would almost immediately collide with atmospheric hydrogen and then cease to exist.
If there IS a parallel universe, does that contradict our faith or negatively effect our faith in any way?In this parallel universe is Reagan still president? JPII still pope, curt cobain still alive, jar jar binks non existent?y
No, but the “Mandela effect” says even the Bible has been changed. Its a weird thing that I’m finding I suffer fromIf there IS a parallel universe, does that contradict our faith or negatively effect our faith in any way?
I don’t understand. I mean I know what the Mandela Effect is but I don’t understand what you mean by the Bible being changed or that that’s what you’re suffering from. No, but the “Mandela effect” says even the Bible has been changed. Its a weird thing that I’m finding I suffer from
Its hard to understand. Try this: Do you remember the TV show “Sex in the City” the claim now is it was never Sex in the City that it is actually “Sex and the City” . That is not how I remember it. To me it was always " Sex in the City". Look it up sometime. It is very creepy and parallel universes are a theory for this Mandela effectI don’t understand.
Why would it? Do you really think the Fathers at the Council of Trent, say, deliberated over the concept of parallel universes? If there IS a parallel universe, does that contradict our faith or negatively effect our faith in any way?
Antimatter costs too much to worry about.CERN is doing dangerous things with anti-matter and how to extract it.
Seriously? Please don’t make allegations without providing facts based evidence. Which CERN are you referring too ?CERN is doing dangerous things with anti-matter and how to extract it.
You heard from where and about what?I’ve heard they are becoming more efficient in their efforts to extract. I don’t think we know the full ramifications of anti-matter on a larger scale yet.
Screw you ppl. open your mind a littleYou heard from where and about what?
TWF I am finding attitudes mind boggling![]()
Faulty memory is hardly evidence of parallel universes. The way our memory is constructed in the brain, especially with regards to language, leads to errors like the one you mention here. Its hard to understand. It doesn’t explain all of it. Yall think I’m a crackpot now and that’s just fine. Live in your little world with this liberal run CAF. I’m done.Faulty memory is hardly evidence of parallel universes. The way our memory is constructed in the brain, especially with regards to language, leads to errors like the one you mention here.
Furthermore, memory isn’t stored like a picture in a photo album, but rather reconstructed from various pieces of information in the brain every time the memory is recalled. As time moves on and the neuron connections break down the memory reconstruction becomes more and more faulty, and unconnected information is used to fill in the gaps. Sometimes we don’t even properly form memories at the very start as we fill in gaps and make assumptions; a great example of this is the Berenstain Bears, which most people remember as the Berenstein Bears. This occurs because the brain does a short cut when reading the words and places the much more common and recognizable -stein ending in place of the -stain ending. When the name is recalled it has the wrong ending, and the person likely never really “saw” the proper ending to begin with as the brain immediately made the switch or skipped over the actual letters and filled in the blank when reading the name.
The Mandela effect is an interesting example of how the brain works, and can be tested with MRI machines during recall experiments, but it has nothing to do with multiverses.
Peace and God bless!
