Me too. Sometimes I think CAF is a āparallel universeāYou heard from where and about what?
TWF I am finding attitudes mind boggling![]()
Also scientist here, worked for many years as an analytical chemist with a dash physics on the side. Degree in chemistry. Then activated my minor in computer science when the industry I worked in started to die, and worked as an integration analyst in the forensics and medical fields.
I have no problems reconciling faith and science. The latter explains the how, the former, the why. One of the reasons I came back to the Church after a long absence is that Catholicism did allow the cooperative co-existence between the two, unlike some fundamentalist Christian sects (the world is only 6000 years old? Really?)
I can respect that not everyone is a scientist, but I do believe everyone should be educated in the basics. Alas, we scientists are often no better at explaining our trade than many catechists are at explaining the faith. And we see evidence of both here on CAF.
