The lemur-like fossil was found pretty intact - interesting - but it proves nothing about common ancestry. Like buffalo pointed out it actually obfuscates what evolutionists have come up with thus far. Now the evolutionists will have to concoct a whole new story to explain their new finding and make it fit in with what they believe.

Interesting. I just read the article on MSNBC and was getting ready to post the article here when I noticed that there was already a thread about it. This is certainly quite the interesting find. That said, I don’t know whether to believe in evolution or not. I do know that if evolution did bring about humans, that Adam and Eve were real and that they were the first humans with souls.

Look guys, there is no such thing as “pop science” or “major questions about evolution”. The fact of the matter is that the evidence for evolution is so overwhelming you would need to be in complete denial of reality to escape it. There should be no reason for this whole debate, the only ones who are promoting this literal-genesis garbage are a bunch of anti-catholic fundamentalist groups who wanna use creationism as a way of slipping into the public education system and get a theocratic system set up with them in control. Just a while ago the Catholic church did a whole meeting discussing scientific advances and concepts, and they intentionally refused creationist groups to join because the top catholic scientists know it is hogwash. If you have any questions still about evolution, this site is both comprehensive but also organized and easy to read (it covers almost every question out there talkorigins.org/indexcc/list.html)

PS The recent swine virus alone is evidence for evolution

Let’s not forget about the other so-called “missing link” that fooled the world’s best scientists at the time it was found. Turns out it was just a bunch of primate bones put together.

Well I don’t like fundamentalism just like I don’t like rationalism. I read Darwin’s Origin of Species and his Voyage of the Beagle and he made a good case for natural selection - so I accept it as occuring in nature. He did not make a good case for common ancestry and I have never seen a good case presented for common ancestry. So please do not make anyone feel lesser because they have the greater brains to see outside the box created by the evolutionists who push their own ideas.

Humor for y’all:

So telling the truth and educating people about the biological evolution of species on Earth is “pushing your own idea”?

So I guess someone who leaves the Catholic church “has the greater brain to see outside the box” compared to the Catholic church who are “pushing their own ideas”?

The theory of common ancestry is being pushed like it is fact. It’s only a theory, and a poor one at that.

The one who leaves the Catholic Church is being deceived one way or another. The one who can see a theory for a theory and not a fact or law is not deceived.

Gravity is also a scientific theory, but are you gonna jump off a building to test it for sure? And it is not a “poor” theory, there are more than 200 years of millions of papers of research and lab testing and field evidence to prove it. The fact is you don’t even understand the difference between a normal theory and a scientific theory, and you have the nerve to say all scientists don’t understand their field of research?

i don’t know, but the photo cracks me up big time…if that’s the missing link, well, i guess darwin must be tracking down his lineage now in his grave only to prove to himself that his theory was right by way of resemblance of some kind:whacky:

By the way, the fossil might be a missing link between mammals and reptiles, or lemurs of today and lemurs of long ago, but, it ain’t a link between man and ape as some people are saying. You’d have to be insane to think it links men and apes.

I think it is safe to say that, no matter which side of the debate one is on, using the words “prove” or “proof” is ridiculous. It is just not that cut and dried. But the evidence does clearly tilt in one direction.

Darwin’s Descent of Man, or should it have been titled “Ascent of Man” since he is depicted “evolving” upwards. You always notice that evolutionists show the dumb monkey man as dark skinned and smart computer operator as white skinned.

As far as Darwinius Masillae is concerned, it is hailed as the the eighth wonder of the world and 95% Lemur. Well why don’t they go one step further, look in a zoo or jungle and find a 100% Lemur and call it the nineth wonder of the world.

Monkeys are dark furred.

Because a Lemur in a zoo isn’t a fossil.
Evolution is science fiction in action
Evolution is a scientific theory, and a dang good one too. I certainly believe it’s the way God created us. There’s lots of evidence in the Universe to support it, too, like how the Universe was created, how atoms work, how the human mind functions, and how God works slowly, never hastily.

Gravity is testable, repeatable and predictable. That’s why no one jumps off a building to test it.

Evolution is not.

Yes it is, have you never heard of this thing called a “virus” and these things called “fossil records”?

Maybe I missed - please reference where we have been repeating evolution.
