…You’re on shaky ground doctrinally and historically to separate Protestants and Catholics into two separate
religions - for they have far more similarities than differences when compared to Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. We are followers of Xριστός - Catholic, Orthodox, Coptic, Protestant, Dissenter. The fact that
official Catholic documents call Protestants “separated brethern” makes it clear that we are members of the same family.
Or, to put it more colloquially - you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your family.
Catholics and non-Catholics are Christians. Christianity is a religion.
I don’t always put stock in everything that Wikipedia posts. But this isn’t bad (other than the claim of Restorationists) - and a reminder where we are and where we ought to be. May we be One in Him.
