The coins are counted, the cash has been doubled, it has been confirmed today that this year’s SCIAF Wee Box appeal is the biggest ever, raising an incredible £3.4 million.
Supporters of the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, an agency of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland, donated £1.7 million—double the campaigns previous highest total—over Let. This amount has been doubled by UK Government fund matching.
The donations will help some of the poorest people in the world, including female farmers in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who helped launch the Wee Boxcampaign in February, said today that she was delighted with this year’s response.

That is wonderful, and I am happy to hear Susan Boyle was involved.
