Let’s get our facts straight, just so we all understand things clearly:
Incidentally, Lizaanne works in Voris’s office…
I do not work for the apostolate. I have never said to anyone that I do.
…, and would naturally defend anything that is said on these fora. It is to be expected.
I defend those who have done no wrong. Regardless of who they are.
She has seen this letter previously in other threads deleted by the moderators.
This form letter is no smoking gun, no surprise. Many have seen it. They send it out quite liberally.
Anyone is free to like or dislike his communications.
Absolutely - something we agree on! 🙂 It makes me wonder why so many vilify him.
The truth is, his apostolate is problematic for reasons **we do not fully have information about, **no matter how much Voris may decry he is being persecuted.
Emphasis mine. Remember that point. It’s very important.

Jam:
This tells us nothing other then they sought Archdiocese media resources and were denied.
There are issues of compliance that have not been resolved for three years. Maybe in your way of thinking this is a minor issue, but as I read V-II document quoted earlier, “No project, however, may claim the name “Catholic” unless it has obtained the consent of the lawful Church authority” … then Voris is completely in the wrong.

Are you aware that a priest cannot minister in another parish or diocese without certification? How much more should a public ministry such as Voris’s attempt to be in compliance. Obviously, there are problems. Catholic Answers is a public website whose apostolate is listed as approved in California’s diocesan directory. It is a requirement, as the Vatican document outlined, for any who use the official name Catholic in their title. I find it appalling that Voris disregarded coming into compliance and obtaining approval.
You have yet to demonstrate the authority that condemns his ministry which would forbid him to speak in Catholic Parishes, which he does! Your tactic was deceptive. Btw, last I heard he was now allowed to speak in PA again.
Again, you seem to find pleasure putting words in my mouth that I did not speak. Nobody has used the word condemn. Think whatever you like, Jam. I do not answer to you. Nor does the Archdiocese. They are exercising charity in not mentioning the reasons for denying approval. So if you want to believe they are just picking at straws and being arbitrary, it says quite a lot about your lack of respect for the hierarchy.

I ask that any constructive dialog continue without calling names. I don’t see how that can serve anyone well.
I’d like constructive dialogue to continue without any name-calling too. Someone had better tell Voris, though, because he’s not on board with that:
[American culture is] dominated by the heresy of individualism, which is the progeny of Martin Luther and his band of merry heretics.
That’s from the video “Amazing Grace.”

Here are some more things he says about our Protestant brothers and sisters:

“If you want to completely waste your time, try talking about faith with a committed Protestant.”
False Ecumenism 06-30

“Protestantism is founded on the un-intellectual. It is simply faith without reason. It is blind, ignorant faith. And we know what our Lord said about the blind: they fall into the pit.”
False Ecumenism 06-30

“[Protestantism is] a heresy that celebrates ignorance.”
False Ecumenism 06-30

“Most Catholics in America dress like Protestants, … [and] reason, if you can call it that, like Protestants…”
Amazing Grace

And in case anyone doesn’t feel like watching that video about how much better monarchy is than democracy, here are some key quotes:

“The only way to prevent a democracy from committing suicide is to limit the vote to faithful Catholics.”
Catholic Government

“The whole idea of democracy is little less than an experiment doomed to failure from the outset.”
Catholic Government

“The only way to run a country is by benevolent dictatorship, a Catholic monarch who protects his people from themselves.”
Catholic Government

And that’s not an exhaustive list of my favorite Voris quotes, nor do I have access to that video wherein he insults the ordinary form of the Mass in the Latin Rite.

If any one of us heard these things with no name attached to them, he would conclude without a second thought that they are downright mean and appallingly fascist. But because they’re attached to a defender of orthodox Catholicism (as well as political conservatism and anti-environmentalism), they get a pass. And that just isn’t right.

Yes, they are allowed to preach at Parishes. No they cannot use Archdiocese media outlets to do so. But they are free to use their own resources though. What part do you not get? You have yet to show an authority that has not permitted them to perform their ministry.6

In another thread, you admitted Simon Rafe was your husband and invited me to call the office. Maybe you don’t directly work in it, but you are highly affiliated with this outfit, and publicly stated Michael is your best friend. Do I need to pull it up? How do you explain being the wife of the webmaster of St. Michael’s Media? Yes, let’s get the facts straight.
brides.ourladyforums.com/showthread.php?t=16

All of you will be pleased to know that His Excellency Archbishop Raymond Burke of the Archdiocese of Saint Louis has formally blessed Our Lady’s Brides during a visit to the studios and offices of Saint Michael’s Media, whose generosity made the Our Lady Forums possible.

Sure they can - Americans are free to do just about anything that is legal.
What part do you not get about being in compliance with the Church?

Who says they aren’t? You have yet to prove it.

So Jam any arguments for a catholic dictator?
I will be very hurt if you haven’t watched that video, I posted it like 3 times.

I can’t right now. And I’m not sure what his opinion on the matter really matters
Can you demonstrate something contrary to Catholic teaching or not?

Yes - he is my husband! 🙂 He’s pretty awesome too. :o But no, I do not work there, never said I did.

Thank you for posting a link to my forum! 👍 It was a great day when Archbishop Burke blessed the forum which I personally managed (it is not in service at this time). It was sponsored by Saint Michael’s Media, but it is my forum, not part of the apostolate. The Archbishop had wonderful things to say about Michael’s work, it was a blessing to have him come to the studio and bless the work done there.

I hope to get that forum back up and running sometime this year, it was a great site until it got attacked by spammers.

Haha I like you Jam you are one determined individual.

But Voris was not talking about Christ the King being that dictator, he was advocating a man making decisions for everyone else and extinguishing the basic rights of everyone who was not a “faithful catholic”.

Watch the videos I posted in your free time, you will see why the diocese of Scranton and Archdiocese of Detroit refuse to give this guy any legitimacy. I am sure if you actually hear this guy out, you will see that he is bonkers.

He’s done entire series and spoken at Parishes in metro Detroit. He’s going to be speaking in PA. And he speaks all over the country. He is legit and there are Priests and Bishops that attest to his legitimacy.

If everyone would send us links to what they are talking about, so everyone can decide for themselves, rather than the possibility of someone putting their own “spin” or taking Voris “quotes” out of context it would be most helpful - - - and most charitable.

It does not matter if a few folks don’t like his style (for those, just don’t watch).
Personal opinions are not important, just the facts - which require links directly to Voris’s programs.

It’s interesting to me why some folks (who are not required to watch) are so uptight and against Voris. If you do not like him, don’t watch.
        • **No one has proved, that Voris had ever been dishonest, or got his facts wrong.
No Church authority has ever claimed he has. B]. **
Catholic Culture did not like the following video which was made prior to the NEW 2011 changes to the Mass. However Catholic Culture has rated them excellent in research.
‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’

(check out the written documentation that comes with the Video)

One of the Works of Mercy is to admonish sinners, another is to instruct the uniformed.

If EWTN had waited for permission from the Bishops, it would not have been around today.

Jesus did not go with the flow. He was radical in his time.

Please see post 39 and 43 of this thread, after viewing the videos I would like to hear your take on his “ideas”.

Please see 2 quotes at bottom on post 39, whenever you have the time, and you will see that I provided evidence to back those assertions. I even put them in cool little blocks 😉

If I get a chance later tonight I’ll check em out and PM you my thoughts, ok?

Hello Anne - instead of giving you cherry picked programs, please go and see for yourself directly from the site: www.realcatholictv.com

Keep in mind that this is only a very very small subset of the hundreds of hours of programming that can be found on the premium site, which is a subscription. What you see on the free site is not characteristic of the flavor or style of the rest of the content which is more along the lines of Catholic apologetics, Bible study, and catechisis.

Enjoy!! 👍
