This is speaking specifically of the Commandments.
Oh, I see. So we’re supposed to believe that, when it comes to the Commandments, God wants us to not add or take away, but when it comes to other commands and directions in the Bible, we can go ahead and do whatever we want with them - add, take away, disregard, etc… Wow, you sure have a skewed view of our Lord and His Holy Word.
I brought up Ignatius of Antioch only to prove wrong your false assertion that the Catholic Church didn’t exist until much later. It’s a good thing that I lumped you in with the other Anti-Catholic, Old “Scholar”****. BOTH of you make false accusations, then, when proven wrong, you take my answers out of context - but HE usually runs away.
What is known of Ignatius of Antioch is very little. Roman Catholics often use him as “proof” that the Roman Catholic Church is the oldest Christian Church. The fact is that there is nothing about Ignatius to suggest he was Roman Catholic, especially since there was no formal Roman Catholic structure. The Bishops that existed at the time he lived were not Roman Catholic, and did not hold the sort of authority they do today in the Roman Catholic Church. Further more, what is known of Ignatius centers mainly around two causes he fought for, the authority of the NT (or what would become the NT), and the truth that Jesus’ suffering was not merely apparent. Your elevation of the man is for the most part, unwarranted. His was an early Church Father, but he is NOT proof that the Roman Catholic Church is the oldest Christian Church.
These Rites are all in Communion with Rome – YOU’RE not. Besides, I don’t “loathe” anybody. I PRAY for spiritually prideful anti-Catholic such as yourself.
You say you “pray” for me. Why? How do you approach God and tell Him that you have judged me, and that I’m a spiritually prideful “anti-Catholic” that should go to hell? How is it that you make these judgements. Don’t you know that Christ died for me, just as he did for you?
They are not all in communion with Rome. If they were, why are they distinct? In addition, the Protestant denominations you speak of as being “fractured” are not. They all agree with the foundational Christian truths of the Bible. The differences can be compared to those we find among the various Rites I cited. Differences in practice, methodology, are seen, but are for the most part non-divisonal. Further, the last Rite I cited to you officially seperated from, and still has friction with the RCC, precisely because they claim today’s RCC gave way too much to Rome during it’s formation.
It’s “unclear”?? Read your history, pal. Hitler rejected any notion of a Christian God – AND the Pope rejected HIM. As for your once-again ignorant remarks about the Church and the Third Reich, that’s been disproved, ad-nauseum, so I won’t waste my breath. Golda Meir herself said to the General Assembly of the United Nations: "During the ten years of Nazi terror, when our people went through the horrors of martyrdom, the Pope raised his voice to condemn the persecutors and commiserate with the victims."
You’re a CLASSIC anti-Catholic because you spew out unfounded and ridiculous venom against the Church and present it as fact.
Suggest a book to me that shows me what my Church actually teaches. This should be entertaining.
With regard to your vitriolic comments above, you are simply mistaken in your understanding of history. Many Catholics have written books about Hitler, and how we’re all wrong about his life. This is presumebly done to distance themselves from the man, and the embarassment that time in history is to the Roman Catholic Church.
