Loving God,

We thank for your many blessings and especially for the gift of strong members of our faith community who set an excellent example of what it means to be Your humble servant. Please hear the persistent prayers of your people on behalf of our dear friend of Christ Jim who has endured much suffering and pain in his life. Please bless Jim, bless his wife Elsa, and send your comforting and consoling Holy Spirit to be with them. Please grant Jim the strength and courage to complete his medical treatments and grant his medical care givers wisdom and compassion. Please also let Jim know of Your special love for him as he carries his cross in union with our Lord.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Doctor is concerned about my appetite. So much so that he gave me a cancer cookbook which is designed to make food palatable through chemotherapy. But, thanks to your prayers, even though food is beginning to taste odd once again, I have a great appetite. I am awake now due to hunger. Actually, I am watching my weight, so that I don’t gain too much! For this grace,I thank you all and humbly ask God to richly bless each one of you for your prayers. I can feel them and they are working. Treasure in Heaven awaits each of you! Amen!

We pray for the continued recovery and for strength for our friend in Christ and excellent humble prayer warrior Jim. We pray that you will continue to bless him and his wife Elsa as he walks the path you have chosen for him, putting one foot in front of the other with courage inspired by the knowledge that he walks with Your son Jesus. We lift up a few verses from Psalm 37 to help our brother on his journey. Please grant healing and continued strength to our brother, in accordance with your Holy and perfect will. Thank you, dear Lord.

Psalm 37: 23-24, 39-40:

Those whose steps are guided by the Lord,
whose way God approves,
May stumble, but they will never fall,
for the Lord holds their hand.

The salvation of the just is from the Lord,
their refuge in time of distress.
The Lord helps and rescues them,
rescues and saves them from the wicked,
because in God they take refuge.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your Holy people.

Again, thank you and may God bless you all for your prayers. You are maintaining my desire to eat. My sense of taste is affected by the medication so that the sweeter a food is, the more bitter it tastes. Between your prayers and my wife, I am still well fed. Amen!
