Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Blessed are you, Lord God:
Blessed are you for ever.
Holy is your name:
Blessed are you for ever.
Great is your mercy for your people:
Blessed are you for ever.
Amen!

On this feast day of St. Lucy and St. Odilia:

Prayer in honor of St. Lucy

Relying on your goodness, O God,
we humbly ask You,
through the intercession of St. Lucy, virgin and martyr,
to give perfect vision to our eyes,
that they may serve for Your greater honour and glory.
St. Lucy, hear our prayers,
and obtain our petitions. AMEN.

From the Novena to St. Odilia

Father, source of salvation for all people, we praise you that through the intercession of St. Odilia, the patroness of the eyes, so many people have been strengthened in the faith that made her so loyal to Christ, your Son. Through her prayers, many have been cured of blindness and other ailments of the eyes. We ask, Father, that you let us become a sign of your love for all people, and, if it be your will for us, that our special requests be granted. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. AMEN.

Saint Lucy,
Whose beautiful name signifies “light”,
by the light of faith which God bestowed upon you,
increase and preserve His light in odhiambo’s soul
so that she may avoid evil,
be zealous in the performance of good works,
and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and
the darkness of evil and sin.
Obtain for her, by your intercession with God,
perfect vision for her bodily eyes
and the grace to use them for God’s greater honor and glory
and the salvation of souls.
St. Lucy, virgin and martyr,
hear my prayers and obtain my petitions.

Amen.
