Has anyone read the “Secret of Mary”?
Are there any more books like this that you could recommend me?

Tim, I’m not sure but can this be read on-line? I know “True Devotion to Mary” can be. I like the Tan publications BTW.St. Louis Marie de Montfort wrote several works similar to Secrets of Mary, the most well known of which is True Devotion to the Mary. The best translation is the one by TAN Books which I have linked to, and this version also contains all the prayers and meditations for the 33 day preparation for consecration to Mary, all for only $12.
“God Alone: "The Collected Writings of St. Louis Marie de Montfort” from Montfort Publications contains all of St. Louis de Montfort’s writings - all of his letters, rules, meditations, homilies, writings on Mary and the rosary and so forth. I have this book and it is definitely worth the $25 price in my opinion.

You can get all the writings contained in God Alone online here if you don’t want to buy the book.

Everything St. Louis wrote that I am aware of is online, including True Devotion.Tim, I’m not sure but can this be read on-line? I know “True Devotion to Mary” can be. I like the Tan publications BTW.Though I imagine what can be read on-line isn’t as in-depth, though I may be wrong on this?
Peace
Thanks for the info, I see. I’m impressed with all I have read in other areas by TAN thus far though.Everything St. Louis wrote that I am aware of is online, including True Devotion.
The entire contents of God Alone, which contains True Devotion, is at montfort.org.uk/Writings/MontWork.html
Secrets of the Rosary is at that link, as are letters St. Louis wrote to his sister and various missionaries and religious communities, morning and evening prayers, and even St. Louis’ will which he wrote as he was dying.
The print book has a few chapters on his life and work, where he lived, etc. so that one can get a fuller picture of who the man was and the context of what he wrote and the reasons why he grew to have what some view as a such a radical devotion to Our Lady.
For those who want to do the consecration to Mary, the 33 day preparation includes readings from “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas Kempis. I like the TAN version of True Devotion because it contains the relevant chapters from Imitation of Christ so you don’t have to purchase or carry around another book if you don’t want. The TAN book also has short chapters on joining the confraternity, indulgences, and a few other interesting items.

I found that funny.
I don’t see what you are seeing. You are seeing irony because the forward is written by the next pope?…with introduction by the Cardinal Prefect of the congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger

Yep. Maybe ironic was a better word than funny. Please don’t read too much into my comment.I don’t see what you are seeing. You are seeing irony because the forward is written by the next pope?

The Bible, book of Romans.Has anyone read the “Secret of Mary”?
Are there any more books like this that you could recommend me?
Yes, only Jesus saves. That is the Catholic position.Mary does not save
Where in the bible did Mary say she saved in the same way St. Paul says that he saves?Yes, only Jesus saves. That is the Catholic position.
But you also realize that Mary saves, in the same way that St. Paul says that he saves.
[BIBLEDRB]Romans 11:14[/BIBLEDRB]
So what do you make of that, Yendis?![]()
The passage about there being one mediator between God and man is in the context of the covenant. The Bible, book of Romans.
Mary does not save, or answer prayers my dear friend. Jesus Christ is the only link between you and God the Father.
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus "1 Timothy 2:5
As a former Roman Catholic, Jesus has brought me out of the bondage of sin and into the light of his presence.
Mary is Queen of Heaven and earth Her prayers are always welcomed by God She is refused nothing.Where in the bible did Mary say she saved in the same way St. Paul says that he saves?
I sense tension after the line, “So what do you make of that, Yendis?” I assure you I am not here to make enemies.
Also, If you recall, John Paul II wanted to make Mary Co-Redemptrix.
Qoute: “Therefore, one can say, she [that is, the Blessed Virgin] redeemed with Christ the human race.”

From: Inter soldalica, AAS 1918, 181.
Why do I have to find something in the Bible for me to believe it, Yendis?Where in the bible did Mary say she saved in the same way St. Paul says that he saves?
