There are many scriptures that describe the second coming of Christ.
Luke 21:27. It says And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."
Matthew 24:30 says “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Revelation 1:7 says "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Matthew 24:42 says “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” and 1 Thessalonians 5:2 states “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”
but this does not mean that Christ’s coming will be a secret or like a thief in the night. If you read a little further in 1 Thessalonians 5:4,5 you will see that this is no secret.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
My question is, why is there a secret rapture theory when the Bible clearly says we shall not only see Him but hear Him during His second coming?

that is why we have the Catholic Church with all the fixings that make us Catholic, you know - Sacred Tradition, the Magisterium, the Pope, and so on.
