Seeds of division and confusion in China as Vatican deal looms
News of the impending deal has split communities of Catholics across China, according to some critics like Cardinal Joseph Zen in Hong Kong.
Some are hopeful about what this deal will mean for them, but some have great fear.
There are over 10 million Catholics in China, half of whom have refused association with the “official” Catholic Church set up and controlled by the Chinese government.
