Any medical explanations convincing for being against contraception? Linking contraception to abortion is a very strong argument, IMO.
There isn’t a difference. Abortion is killing another person, regardless of the motivation or reasons behind the decision. The only reason that the LCMS allows for abortion is in the case of the mother’s life is in danger and there is no other medical way to save it AND the baby is not going to survive either way. A tubal pregnancy is about the only example of this I can readily think of. Needless to say this reason accounts for less that 1% of abortions in our country. Well over 95% of abortions in the US are performed for reasons of Birth Control, or Culling. Thanks for the responses so far.
Another question. What’s the difference between aborting because contraception failed and aborting because natural method failed?
The abortion isn’t different, only the form of birth regulation used prior to the abortion is different. Thanks for the responses so far.

so what is the difference of abortion if both methods failed? The abortion isn’t different, only the form of birth regulation used prior to the abortion is different.
There is no difference of abortion. It’s immoral in either case.so what is the difference of abortion if both methods failed?
Are you saying the even natural method is immoral once it fails? There is no difference of abortion. It’s immoral in either case.
No. I’m saying that just because your method failed doesn’t give you a right to kill your baby. You may never abort a child – no matter how you got pregnant. Are you saying the even natural method is immoral once it fails?
I see your point now. Thanks, dmar198;8016063.No. I’m saying that just because your method failed doesn’t give you a right to kill your baby. You may never abort a child – no matter how you got pregnant.
Your rockne.I see your point now. Thanks, dmar198;8016063.
Well, artificial birth control works in different ways. Condoms, as a barrier method, don’t act as abortificants in any way.Any medical explanations convincing for being against contraception? Linking contraception to abortion is a very strong argument, IMO.
So oral contraceptives first work to inhibit ovulation, secondly, they work to alter the cervical mucus, which makes it harder for the sperm to travel to the egg. And thirdly, it changes the lining of the uterus, which “reduce the liklihood of implantation”.Combination oral contraceptives act by suppression of gonadotropins. Although the primary
mechanism of this action is inhibition of ovulation, other alterations include changes in the cervical
mucus (which increase the difficulty of sperm entry into the uterus) and the endometrium (which
reduce the likelihood of implantation).
So, there is no strong midical argument against artificial birth control other than side effects. Correct?Well, artificial birth control works in different ways. Condoms, as a barrier method, don’t act as abortificants in any way.

As to “how to connect contraception and abortion”, there are those who think that just being on contraception will lead someone to having an abortion if that contraception fails. Others don’t buy it. If you don’t believe in abortion, whether you’re on artificial birth control or not is not going to make a difference if one becomes pregnant.
You’re forgetting about all those married couples who use artificial birth control…I don’t know about a medical link but there is a clear social link.
Contraception enables our culture of recreational sex. It is exactly the culture of recreational sex which has produced the demand for abortion. Anything, contraception included, which perpetuates and enables recreational sex on demand, is a contributor to the demand for abortions.
That’s why Catholics and those who fight against abortion yet use contraception or council its use, including men who get vasectomies, are hypocritical. These people fight against abortion but perpetuate the culture of recreational sex which produces the demand for abortion by supporting and usine contraception.
Anyone who supports the use of or uses contraception is directly contributing to the root cause of abortions.

Strong medical argument against artificial birth control other than side effects? Well, no – not unless one has health issues that would be exacerbated by the side effects of their choice of artificial birth control. Whenever someone takes a medication (any medication), there are side effects associated with taking that medication. And one has to weigh the benefits of taking the medication against the risks from taking that medication. No matter what the side effects are, if the patient believes the risks that come with taking contraceptives outweigh the risk of getting pregnant, then it really doesn’t matter what those risks are. It depends on the individual, their state of health, and what’s going on in their lives that they are trying to avoid getting pregnant. So, there is no strong midical argument against artificial birth control other than side effects. Correct?
Please tell me what pills stop fertilized ovum from attaching to uterus. Thanks.“I thought birth control pills stopped fertilization when in fact that is not the case. The pills stop the already-fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. In other words, they act as abortifacients.”
Loads of stuff here:

No one on here is qualified to do that. You would need to speak to an OBGYN for that information. I believe it can vary depending on the person. Please tell me what pills stop fertilized ovum from attaching to uterus. Thanks.
