Selfishness is a sin?

Is having a hair transplant and spending thousands of dollars a sin?
 
It depends on the motivation behind doing this, how much money the person has, how much money they spend on charitable causes, how much money they spend on other stuff to do with their appearance, etc. There are people such as politicians and actors whose livelihood might depend to some extent on them looking a certain way, and in their case a hair transplant might be seen as an investment in themselves to help their career, keep their current job status, etc.

I personally think it is kind of a dumb idea, since many successful men have been balding or had shaved heads, etc. but it is not my head, so not my judgment to make. I doubt this is something we would ever spend money on in our own family, but I’m not going to point fingers at somebody else who I don’t even know for choosing to try it.
 
I do not think it is in-hair-ently evil. 🙂

It comes down to motives and circumstances.

No, but vanity IS a sin. Is a hair transplant wasteful? Possibly.
 
I doubt it’s a sin. But to me, it’s an indication the person doesn’t know where their money is truly needed. When you don’t have money for hair transplants, you might have a longer time to learn which organizations can best use your money. The fact your mind is on your hair is the worrying part for me.

Human Life International and LifeSiteNews are two of the most helpful organizations in this world. After that, there are many disease advocacy groups which need money for research, such as diabetes advocacy groups.

Now some of you will say, but the OP may already give to charity. My point is that more is needed.

Say you can be happy with a medium carpet instead of the best carpet. Take the difference and help people get more of what they need. We should have reasonably nice clothes, and perhaps a few special things to wear, but if you have more than five pairs of shoes, or you own a purse that costs more than about $100, you’re one of those people who doesn’t understand the greatest needs in this world.
 
No mistake. They advance the pro-life cause by reporting many things which mainstream media would never touch. They get people to respect the lives of children with Downs Syndrome or other genetic anomalies. They state the good things Trump has done, even though they are aware of all his problem too.

They only seem to have one flaw, and that is that their understanding of brain death isn’t complete enough.
 
I don’t think so, but spending them for useless things for your own and you didn’t think of others like your family (I am not sure either for my answer)
 
What i saw to the title is that selfishness is a Venial sin I think.
