Is it possible to sell your soul to satan for money, positions, fame etc?

IF you do so…do you get all of those things? I have heard it said that many people do so and obtain all of the above.

IF you do it…and your getting toward the end of your life… cant you just say your sorry to God and have it all undone?

No.

The devil is a deceiver.

According to Fr. Jose Antonio Fortea in the book ‘Interview with an Exorcist’ one can’t sell their soul to the devil.

He makes the following points -

*1. Making a pact with the devil does not mean that you will obtain a life of wealth, luxury or fame. I personally know of two people who made such a pact, and to put it frankly, their material lifestyle is worse than mine. Neither does it appear that the devil was especially generous to them in a carnal way. We need to remember that the devil is a deceiver; he is not God-he cannot give whatever he wants (see CCC 395)
  1. A person can always repent of the pact whenever he wants to with a simple act of the will. Upon repenting, the pact they made remains as ink on paper, no matter what the terms of the deal were. Even if the possibility of repentance was excluded in the pact, such a clause is useless. God has given us the freedom to do as we want; we cannot renounce this gift. This is also valid in eternity-in heaven we will no longer want to sin and in hell we will no longer want to be forgiven, but our freedom remains intact.
The great destructive power of a demonic pact is that the person may think he is condemned no matter what he does. It is difficult for him to see that he is still as free as before to repent and revoke the pact he has made, returning wholeheartedly to God.*

I hope this has helped

God Bless You

The ownership of your soul is not transferable, so no, you can’t sell it.

What you CAN do, however, is pledge your obedience and worship to Satan, and make deals with him that you will do his will if he does things for you. (And there’s no guarantee that he’ll deliver on his promises.)

This is, of course, the stupidest thing anyone could ever do, because by doing so one places himself squarely on the path to eternal damnation in exchange for temporary, fleeting, material goods here on earth.

Living a life of obedience to Satan is not one you want to start, and you especially shouldn’t presume that you’ll have the chance to “repent” at the end and make it to Heaven. God will not be mocked, and as you descend deeper and deeper into sin, eventually your own desire to be saved will disappear altogether.

I agree. If I recall correctly, it was Padre Fortea who once shared a story of a German man who made a pact with the devil. The story was told to a priest who knew the priest that was present at the death-bed of the man.

At any rate, it goes like this: the man offered Satan his soul in return for riches, power, and fame with one exception. He wanted Satan to notify him three days before he would die. Satan accepted and agreed. The man became a big landlord and had many employees and material wealth etc… The man thought that he was going to outwit the devil and with his three days notice repent and ask God to forgive him.

The devil notified, but, the man was so involved with his material world responsibilities and interests that he kept postponing the priest. People would come in the room needing to know the things the man wanted to be done with material possession etc… and he was much more interested in those things than in repenting. The stuff was much more important to him and he never got to do a good confession nor repent.

As I await my own death now. I have really learned to appreciate what I have often heard; God does not send people to help - people chose hell. What I have really experienced at the end of my days is that I am really who I am - who I have become - molded by every act and thought I have done and thought. People tell me to sell everything and start a bucket list, but, I am at peace and I am happy and look at me; look at what I want to do with limited time left - post at CAF and hopefully be of help to someone to come close to the heart of the Church. It’s who I am and what I have become. Of course, people can repent at any time even instants before the final moment, but why risk it and not live a life in accordance with God’s will? It’s a better life all around, He should know, He created us and knows what is best for us. His yoke is not hard.

Matthew 11:
28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Wow, what a powerful, thought provoking post. I’ve never encountered anything quite like it on this forum. God bless you

Quite a powerful witness, thanks for sharing it.

You will be in my prayers, and if I may ask please pray for me.

I imagine that all of satan’s gifts are poisoned.

If it is possible to sell your soul for a fleet of fancy cars, tons of money, worldly success etc, I think there would be a poisoned effect to it. Like you would enjoy it all but there would be no sense of peace or joy, coupeld with the fact that Hell awaits you in the near future

Well when you think about it, in order to sell your soul for some supernatural power or fame, riches, your soul would have to ‘hold equal value’…if a person is at the point of pondering doing this, I doubt their soul holds enough ‘value’, why would Satan grant someone anything special when the person is already firmly on the path to hell?

However, I do believe satan has ‘assisted’ some people out there in various ways over the years, those he thinks could possibly lead millions of people away from the church/ God. That would make sense and would be of value to him. I think many popular entertainers and powerful world leaders are involved in something like this to be honest, they would be in a position to effect 100s of 1000s if not more people.
