Well done for not voting for John Kerry; John Coryn, Ted Cruz and Jim Inhofe

I’m not a big fan, but he is certainly well qualified to be Secretary of State. I probably would have voted ‘yea,’ as well.
 
he might be more qualified than hillary at least. i hope he will do a better job.
 
I think he is a good and honorable man. He knows what he is talking about and I wish him well.

Unless there is something extraordinarily outrageous about a nominee, a president should be allowed to pick his cabinet. Those who object, seem to be doing so strictly for partisan reasons only. Kudos to you rlg94086. You looked at the individual, and not the party. 😉
 
To me, John Kerry is a perfect fit for the Obama administration, “Jenjis Khan” and all.

The confirmation hearings with regard to Chuck Hagel will be more interesting, I’m sure. I’m OK with John Kerry but no one can replace Hillary. (Interpret this as you wish.)

As I said, I’m not a fan of Kerry. That said, I see no reason to vote ‘nay’ on his confirmation as Secretary of State. There is nothing abnormal about that…

You people who think Kerry (Mr. Heinz 57/ketchup - his billionaire wife) would make a good Sec. of State?? Have you forgotten this is the guy that threw his “medals” over the fence of the White House, and said US Soldiers were killers, etc.? That received A “questionable discharge”? Don’t forget - it wasn’t “Honorable” — the only others are “General” (weak) and “Dishonorable”. Nough said —
The same bonehead that put in 4 (four) months on river boats in RVN, (that’s Republic of Vietnam for you younger troops) fired an M-60 as the boat turned around to leave comrades to suffer without assistance — that John Kerry??

Years in the Senate. Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for the last four years. Emissary to several hot spots the last four years. He’s better prepared than Clinton was.

Call me cynical but the fact that he’s giving up his Democratic Senate seat makes that very appealing to the Republicans. That IMO is how he’s especially qualified. There are probably others who are better qualified for SoS but what’s done is done.
