I am a Catholic who went through the heart break of divorce in 2001. I lost everything I had along with the divorce. Not knowing which way to turn I decided to just give it all to the Lord. It was the best thing I ever did! Today I not only have recovered financially but the Lord gave me a wonderful God loving Catholic wife. We are starting a support group at our church next week for separated, recently divorced, or persons presently going through divorce. We would like to have your prayers supporting this effort we are embarking on.
Thank you.

I think what you and your wife are doing is great. I have three sisters and a MIL who have experienced divorced. One sister experienced it about 19 years ago, another 6 years ago and the last one year ago. My MIL was a year ago as well. The only one not adjusting well is my MIL who is much older in her 60’s and was married to a much younger man in his 40’s. She still loves him and is waiting for his return despite the fact that he got remarried this year. My second sister was that way too for about a year or so. I have seen each of these women suffer so much and I am sure the men did too, but in each of these cases they ran off with another woman, so my sisters and my MIL suffered more. Most of all the children suffered. The sad thing is that the people who go to these support group may not be the ones who really need to go to it, but their ex’s are the one who need it the most and won’t go to it. At least, that is my experience from my sisters. They won’t even go for the sake of the children.

I will pray for your new life and your new vocation. I pray that the Lord will bless you both in words and inspiration in how to help each person in each different situation. God Bless.👍

PS: I am going to tell one of my sisters, of course after she gets her annulment for she is the one who was hoping for her ex to return but no more, that there is hope in finding a good Catholic man out there for you found yourself a good Catholic woman. That will give her hope. She has two small children that need a good man godly man figure in there life instead of a dad who has moved in with two to three different women already and put her above their needs. This is something they have noted themselves and expressed to their father and to my sister and even their therapist. It is sad. I just hope my sister will move on her annulment so that she can find the love of her life to treat her like a queen and so that she won’t have to live so poorly for she is barely making it. Single mom’s work very hard. I admire them so much doing the job of both father and mother.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
now and at the Hour of our death. Amen.

I’m praying for you, your family, and your ministry.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To you do we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not our petitions but, in your mercy, hear and answer us. Amen.

Thank you for your response and prayers. Just remind all those that you wrote about that in all new relationships you must conduct your relationship according to God’s rules in order to get His blessings.

Love in Christ,

Donald you are so right and it saddens me to say that I have one sister who is not Catholic, but she claims to be a good Christian who is seeing a married man. She excuses herself by saying he is separated and in the process of getting a divorce, but nevertheless, he is married still and his wife wants things to work. I have told her that she is committing adultery and going against God’s rules, but she says that her boysfriends wife is crazy and mental and he will never take her back. I know she is harassing my sister by phone calls, but she wants her husband back. It saddens me for we were not raised this way. No one in my family knows either that she is having sex with this man too. My sisters thought as I did until I asked her that she would not do that, but she is. I pray for her for I know she has told me the divorce has left her alone and vulnerable, but this is wrong and breaking commandments left and right. She won’t get God’s blessings this way.😦

I am so sorry about your sister! There is no way that her relationship with a still married man could find God’s blessings. We must join together and pray for both of them. Thanks for your comments and God bless you also.
