Madurai (ICNS) – A meeting of minority leaders here has demanded 7 per cent reservation each, for Christians and Muslims, in education and employment in Tamil Nadu.
Though Christians formed 6.1 per cent of the State’s population and Muslims 5.6 per cent, their representation in government departments was marginal, the leaders said.
A resolution adopted by the Sept. 17 meeting demanded that the state government provide 7 per cent reservation on the lines of the quota system in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
