Funny, you were just trying to convince us there was no CODE.Hi to Larry, Mary, and all the rest,
I havenât looked at this post for a whole 24 hours, since I have just ended a wonderful Sabbath spent in Bible Study and prayer with fellow saints, all wanting to prepare for HeavenâŚ
Once again thank you all for being so passionate about what you believe. Donât let the passion turn sour though!
I do NOT write on this forum to try and down anybody, or to defend SDAs or my own beliefs. I am simply a Christian, eager to tell others what God has done for me and my family.
The Bible has no secrets or secret codes. The Bible is a miraculous perfect union, from Genesis to Revelation, where God is telling us that He is going to finalize the sin problem on this planet once and for all. By comparing Old and New testament, verse by verse, we find wonderful themes running consistently throughout. Our work is to prayerfull study this map from God â the CODE is found in it, clearly, and unambiguously.
by code, I mean the unique SDA meanings placed over the bible to arrive at the conclusions you want.
Then why not try to stick to the subject. It has already been pointed out that Catholic teaching about hell does not necessarily mean the popular culture ideas about hell. It has also been pointed out that Adventists do not believe in an immortal soul.Too many questions have been asked to even try and answer.
Its not a âproblemâ to continue to point out error.Mary, I sense that you have a major problem with SDAs. Sorry about that. That is not what it is all aboutâŚ
Then why did he found a CHURCH, instead of passing out books?May I politely summarize my personal view:
God is not in the business of playing church-church.
Why did he promise the gates of hell would not prevail against it?
So I guess Jesus didnât keep his promise to the Church, is what you are saying, since he has to keep finding different groups to do his work.He is in the business of dealing with sin. He wants to eradicate sin from this earth. He used Noah to warn sinners of His imminent drastic dealing with sin during the coming flood. He chose Israel to be his ``LIGHTââ to shine His love out to the world. They ran after other gods, so God sent them into 70 years of Babylonian captivity. This cured them of idolatry, but then they turned on their Saviour from sinâJesus Christ, and crucified Him. God then used 12 disciples to tell the world about Him, which they did brilliantly. Since then God has used many different people/groups to witness for him. I believe God used leaders during the Dark Ages, He used Reformers to shed more light on the Bible again, and He still uses people today.
A different message that is not the GospelSeventh Day Adventists are no better or worse than any of the groups used by God previously. We just have a different message, with emphasis on Godâs day of Rest from creation, and His soon return to eradicate sin finally.
And all of this relates to the OP how? Or is this just another chance to try and proselytize. If we refuse to carry this message to the world, God will choose somebody else! This means that ultimately God is not going to ask which church you belonged to, but if you and I were true to Godâs requirements as given to us in the Bible (Is.8:20).
Again this relates to the OP how? Or is this an attempt to deflect the thread from the obvious weaknesses in the Adventist position?Sister MarysRoses? I am not ashamed of what I believe, only hesitant to offend others who may believe differently. My only advice is this: Let all of us make things right with God, obey his Word, and we will be neighbours together in heaven!
See you there,
Friedrich
