Well, if one believes, obviously one must listen…
And if one isn’t sure… the safest and wisest course is to listen too, considering the weight of the matter.
It is not as if, asking your bishops to say a single prayer one day is hmm. . like asking them to correct all their liturgical abuses in one day.
Minimal difficult to do that – one single prayer after all.
And if one is sympathetic to the faithful, the millions of faithful who would dearly appreciate a single prayer and are praying and begging you for it… one would do it no?
After all there’s no harm in it. But not doing it displays a certain stance towards all these good folks too.
