Please cease from snarky responses and remain on topic.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I not Catholic “simple soul”, but way I see it is like this. If you are pianist, but you not know all of piano music ever written, it not make you NOT a pianist does it? I imagine it same thing for Catholic. In any case who can truthfully say that they know all of the “unsearchable things of God ?” Not Fundamentalist, not Catholic; Not any person, Jew or Gentile, you agree? In any case, my opinion (for what it worth) is that we should endeavour to be Christian first, and Catholic, Fundamentalist, Baptist, Presbytarian, etc., ect., second. I believe that the less time spent on emphasising the things that divide us, then the quicker we shall see unity. 1 Cor. 1:12 & 13, “Now this I say, that everyone of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. (13) Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptised in the name of Paul?”*Sorry for addressing this post twice but, I believe I am catholic but I do not believe I fully understand all of God’s Truths. So since I am still learning His Truths does this mean I am not catholic? *
I sorry, but if this is true then all but one of my posts to this thread have been “off topic”.Off Topic
the Topic is : " Several questions regarding the events at Fatima, Portugal in 1917…"
While it might be off topic, it was a valuable post. Plenty of posts end up being off topic by way of incorporating issues that are just a little to the side of the topic. When we start talking about a particular subject, inevitably there will be other things that are brought up that at least indirectly are involved. I think ORD’s post was a good post. So many people here are arguing as to whether a consecration has taken place. So many people on this forum are Christian and find it fun to attack other Christians. It’s called a superiority complex.I sorry, but if this is true then all but one of my posts to this thread have been “off topic”.
Regard, ORD.
Thank you cathdoki, but please, no more praise otherwise I become conceited. It O.K. I only joking - a little praise will lull me into a false sense of security - being a Fundamentalist on a Catholic website. Regard, ORDWhile it might be off topic, it was a valuable post. We all believe in Jesus the Christ! On the non-Catholic religions forum there are plenty of muslim posters telling us that we are wrong. Perhaps it would be a good idea to put some of our vigor into teaching them the Gospel, instead of trashing each other. Whether it is because they belong to a different church, or don’t believe a consecration has taken place, or how many angels fit on the head of a pin (yes that really was a thread), or so on and so on. Our job as Christians is to evangelize. Not each other, but first to bring those that deny Christ to Christ.
Well! I’ll just have to tell you you’re a heretic! OF COURSE, I’M 100% JUST KIDDING AROUND!Thank you cathdoki, but please, no more praise otherwise I become conceited. It O.K. " Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows." Matt.10:31.
Thats an excellent point and likewise to add to what Gary is talking about - Any Catholic who has not done so needs to likewise complete what Our Blessed Mother asked us as Laity to Do - the Five First Saturday Devotions.Let me ask you, Do “YOU” believe Russia was consecrated as the Blessed Mother asked? Do “you” believe the 3rd secret was released including the words of the Blessed Mother as she asked to be done?
If she told you “SIMPLE SOUL” go get the Priest from your church and bring him back here right now… Would you write him a letter? Would you wait till tommorrow? Or would you go get him like you were told?
You know, I listen to brothers speaking here. And I think the education and belief in faith is admirable. But I’m not so sure you realize the significance of what Our Lady is saying in proportion to todays events? Do you realize we could be fighting a War on three seperate fronts by this years end? Which could easily turn into World war.
While others downplay this issue, I simply magnify it. There’s NOT going to be any resolution today here. But what important is that faithfull followers start taking a hard look at Our Blessed Mother amd exaclty whats being said. And I also believe to sit back and simply think, “Ah, no big deal, the Vatican has is Covered”. Thats NOT what the Bible tells us. The Bible tells us clearly what must happen before the Second Coming of Christ. And we are in the LAST MINUTE now. When the last two Popes spoke at Fatima? They specifically talked about Revelation 12:1 through 12:4 or 8, I have heard both. So if you now revert to this part fo the Bible. Well there’s not much left is there?
I mean this is it. WE need to seriously get our act together NOW. Not your childrens, children.-but You! There may be very little left of mankind real soon.
Do I think you should quit yur day job and move to Fatima. Definatly not. But I believe we should move this Faith to where it should be, With a little effort and communication. And I believe we could “all” have a much better and clearer understanding. Through Honest communication.
Why should fatima exist as it is? Listen unless you confront and challange, then there can be NO change. Do you believe we need to change the way mankind is existing on Earth?
Love not only for Christians, but also for those souls who have not yet responded to invitation to become Christians. Regard, ORD.Well! I’ll just have to tell you you’re a heretic! OF COURSE, I’M 100% JUST KIDDING AROUND!
Thank you for joining the CAF! I’m sure as a Christian with respect and love for other Christians you’ll have many valuable things to say. Just be prepared to be chastised from time to time by Catholic fundamentalists. Don’t give up though.
THEY WILL KNOW YOU BY YOUR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER![]()
Hi Simple Soul,Hi everyone,
I started to follow this thread because I was hopping to find out exactly what the requests and promises that Our Lady made were. But…it know seems to be only about whether Russia was or was not consecrated.
I am familiar with the general story of Fatima but I am fuzzy on Our Lady’s requests and promises so I was wondering if anyone would just bullet point the requests and promises made by Our Lady of Fatima. Or, maybe some one can recommend a book or website that will do this for me.
My thanks to anyone for their time.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_of_the_SunI want to learn as much as I can before I present a case for the events of Our Lady of Fatima. I have just finished reading Our Lady of Fatima by William Thomas Walsh and am currently reading Documents on Fatima & the Memoirs of Sister Lucia. I have a few questions that were not explored enough in adequate detail or not explored at all in the books:
-Conspicuously absent from the books are articles from Portuguese newspapers reporting the Miracle of the Sun. Can anyone link me to a resource which has published these articles? Wikipedia has an entry on the Miracle of the Sun and quotes from some of the articles, but I would like a more complete and reliable resource.
-Were the first two messages that were imparted to Saint Lucia by Our Lady published or otherwise publicly revealed before Lucia’s memoirs? I had previously thought that the three children spoke of the first two messages to all those who were curious. However, I have not found any documentation of the children speaking about their vision of Hell and/or the Blessed Virgin’s request for the consecration of Russia. This is an important detail, I think. If they were first revealed in Saint Lucia’s memoirs, skeptics can claim that the first two messages have no prophetic value because they were revealed after the events they “foretold.”
-I have read, I’m not sure where, that part of the reason Our Lady’s prophecies were so remarkable is because no one, at that time, could have thought that communism would take over Russia. Is this true? Why would there be so much incredulity over this possibility?
-I have also read tha theret were witnesses to the Miracle of the Sun kilometers away from the Cova da Ira, but I have not seen any documentation to attest this. In particular, I read of an atheist poet who saw the miracle. Can someone please refer to me a resource which has published the testimonies of these witnesses?
-How does one effectively respond to the charge that the Miracle of the Sun was the result of eye strain from staring at the sun too long?
There is a copy of the newspaper of the time on this link. Does anyone know where one can find a copy of it online? I would love to read it.

My impression is that half or less of the population saw the whirling of the sun. This is an excellent point. There is no reason to think that even if the Miracle of the Sun were the result of eye-strain that all 100,000 of the witnesses experienced the same effects.
Perhaps you can recall the name of the book?
???
Go to Fatima.org and you can call them and speak in person, or e-mail them, and they will supply you with all the information you seek and obviously know little about. And theres loads of info. on the sight. I don’t know of anyone who was there that didn’t see the MIracle of the Sun, nor was there anyone there who came foward to deny it. If you have “that” info all of us would love to see it.{My impression} is that half or less of the population saw the whirling of the sun.
I also have {heard} about the remote witnesses but have no documentation.
