More likely she knows she cant elected in San Francisco if she opposes abortion. She has let her politics trump her Faith. A good move if you want political power-not so good a move if you want to attain eternal salvation.
Sometimes, though, I wonder if she gets elected because of her defiance against the Church in addition to her pro-abortion position. She gets like 85-90% of the vote most of the time there in SF.

While I would support her Excommunication, however that won’t happen anytime soon. Before we even get to Excommunication, I think denying communion (less severe but not enforced on a major basis) is the next step.

To quote El Rusbho “I’d take hypocrisy over moral relativism any day”.

The prior comment is nothing more than a black and white progressive argument that a Christian must be perfect in all things or be silent when others fail. See all the complex webs of nonsense they have to weave to support selfish causes?

That is not proper Catholic teaching.
What’s not proper teaching? Certainly anti abortion and OCAC both are. I didn’t say we can not offer correction. Only that if it is denied she is a Catholic, that is picking and choosing too and so can also be corrected. Wouldn’t you agree?

So, he and Bishop Lucas before him (and a parish priest) had a politician face consequences.

Of course, two bishops out of however many we’ve had over the decades isn’t exactly a steller track record.
okay, so it has happened. Thank you for enlightening me. Just two though, would welcome more stories like this.

Sounds like an appropriate action to take with Pelosi. Will Cordileone go there?

She’s leading SO many people astray. I’ve heard pro-abortion Catholics actually use Pelosi as “proof” of why this is ok. “If Pelosi is in good standing with the Church and is vocally and publicly pro-abortion, why can’t I be?”

I can say I’m a vegetarian all I want, but if I eat beef every day, am I really a vegetarian?
You can’t judge what’s in a vegetarian’s heart just because of what’s in his stomach!
