It is well explained
here.
Khalfan doesn’t either understand, or wish to advertise, that to Moslems ‘peace’ means only one thing - submission to Islam
His own site says this…
“Therefore, the command to fight in verse 9:29 relates to those non-muslims who commit agression and not those who are committed to live in peace.”
Living in peace means accepting the imposition of Islam, including the payment of the tax that’s imposed upon non-Moslems.
One of the deceptions of that site is interesting…
"The verse mentions Jizya, which is unfortunately misunderstood by some people. Like any nation, the Islamic government requires its citizens to pay taxes in return for its services. Since Muslims pay the Zakat, the non-muslim citizens are required to pay Jizya (for more information on Jizya, please refer to Jizya in Islam and Jizyah and non-muslim minorities). "
(Ibid.)
It would be fair if all the community were taxed the same regardless of their religion, but this isn’t so.
The Zakat is paid by Moslems at 2.5%. The Jizya paid for by non-Moslems is at 10% (though this site forgets to point out this difference) thus making a mockery of the following…
“Hence, the laws of Islam forbid Muslims from opressing non-muslims and command them to treat others with justice and compassion. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad pbuh himself forbade Muslims from harming non-muslim citizens of an islamic state or any non-muslim with whom there was an agreement of peace, as he said,”
(Ibid.)
This is a mockery, because it talks of ‘
justice’. In Islam
justice is different from how we use it.
In Islam, if you separate an entire group and discriminate against them all, that’s justice - so if you make all non-Moslems pay an unfair tax, it’s justice!
