Yes. And for me, when that happens, it is because the deeper issue is my avoiding acknowledging a specific sinful pattern in my own self. It is easier to point out the flaws in others than to acknowledge oneās own. By the grace of God, I have learned that when I start to get annoyed like that, the problem is with me. Frankly, the same thing happens in my parenting with my children. Sure they may have some faults of their own, but my frustration is often out of proportion. It never hurts to see oneself as the lucky one in the family, to be surrounded by such amazing people. (Barring abusive situations, of course.)
If Iām obsessed and upset with my husbandās belt being left on the kitchen counter rather than taken to the bedroom, thatās the first clue that Iām bugged about a deeper issue.
