I cannot imagine anyone more deserving of sainthood. Of course, he is probably much too modest too agree with me.

He would say it’s what we all are called to.

He even made a joke when, as a young man (priest?) when someone commented on “there is no Saint Futlon”

His reply, “Not yet, at least” 🙂

I was at the Mass of Thanksgiving for when he became “venerable” and some of the chit chat I heard from others there was maybe media? communications? Clearly he was a very very strong evangelizer.

He also was very involved in priests retreats in that latter part of his life. He was also very early on pro-life (there is a prayer he composed for children in danger of abortion)
 
He could also be the Saint of Ecumenism because he appealed to non-Catholics and non-Christians as well as Catholics. When Dr. Schuller built the Crystal Cathedral he had a statue of Fulton Sheen installed in it long before Archbp. Sheen was a formally declared a Servant of God. So, many people in and out of the Catholic Church recognized and still do recognize Ven. Sheen’s holiness and sound teaching. :yup:

Well said. I do believe he had a really really close friend who was a rabbi.
He was also well respected by the Eastern Catholics (there is even a pic of him vested in their vestments. )

He really did cut across all kinds of religious differences.
