this is called pharisic legalism, the legalism condemned by Jesus where the appearance is more important than the intention, where outward self-righteous actions are more important than esteem, love and mercy. Such legalism renders the person a robot who needs a manual and an antena on his head to catch who is doing right or wrong to judge him, and to study each step according to the manual to see if his robotic actions comply with the manual otherwise Allah will get angry at him…and where is the limit? there is no limit, do not bow to this or that, do not have animal pictures in your houses, do not have curtains with images in your houses, do not take pictures of loved ones, do not ask others to pray for you…what else? do not call anyone master because only God is the master? do not esteem anyone because esteem is only for God? do not mention any other name in your prayers because only God’s name must be in there? they simply render God to their limited understanding…There are no limits to pharisic/islamic legalism that is why the more one studies Islamic legalism, the more tough he will get, less intolerant oropen, and the more judgmental and imprisonned to letters, and therefore the angrier , and this is what we see with fundamentalists…Jesus did not say the truth will set you free for no reason and the more imprisonned people are the slaves to the letters, the legalists.
