Hi, Michael! So what I am saying, from a Catholic viewpoint you can just worry that she is not Catholic but being in Shofar is no different then being in any other Charismatic Church.
I concur, this is part of a cult/cultist group and the way to place themselves as the authority: raze Catholicism and claim the identity as the “true” church of Christ/God.My main worry with my girlfriend attending the Shofar church is that it is dividing us members of Shofar (at least the one close to me) does not allow anyone to date non-members or they criticise the Catholic Church quite heavily. I do appreciate the thoughtful response!
Look into how easy it is to leave the group. Assemblies that claim to be Christian and which make it very easy to join, yet very difficult to leave raise an immediate red flag. Jesus taught that it is difficult to follow him (Luke 9:23 and others) and very easy to leave (John 6:66 and others).Hi, Thank you for the responses so far, I am also trying hard to dissect
this “church” and have read articles of apparent cult ties in the local
papers. I am keeping hard to my faith and answering any questions my
girlfriend throws at me with as much accuracy as possible, I pray in
time she learns and realises.
