Let’s put the shoe on the other foot for a moment and turn this suggestion around as an experiment.
Considering the TLM had been around for a long time (memory at fault here for how long exactly), wouldn’t it be better to suggest that this remains the form of the latin rite - and a sui iuris church in full communion with Rome, but with complete autonomy to build temples, to celebrate the ordinary form/novus ordo form of the Mass wherever it wants without trying to convince the local bishops, keeping all the new changes, etc be established elsewhere instead?
Offended by my suggesting the Ordinary Form Rite should just go off and set up shop elsewhere? So, you should be, yet all I have done is turn it around and swap rites to hopefully show the absurdity of this suggestion.
And so to answer your first question in your opening post - as I am one who prefers the Extraordinary Form of the rite I am offended that this would even be considered an option.
I pray for the unity of all Christians under one Shepherd, not the increase of divisions.
