Here is a discussion for whether abortion should be made illegal or kept legal.

Personally I believe without question that abortion should be made illegal. However, I have noticed that some people claim to be “pro-life” but insist that abortion should be kept legal because women will seek out illegal abortions.

Honestly, you can use that argument to justify legalizing a lot of things that are bad.

Yes! I agree. Just because someone may illegally do something does not mean we should make everything legal.

Not to mention, making it illegal will make it far less commonplace. And more dirtbags will think twice about sleeping with women they don’t intend on marrying.

It definitely should be made illegal. For one thing, it being legal is a big reason why so many people think it’s morally neutral now, simply a “choice”. “It’s legal, so it can’t be all bad…” it’s amazing how many people conflate legality and morality.

i’d’'ve to have to’ve’ve’d agreed with your post

primarily OP is questioning whether or not it should be “illegal”’ to discuss the subject

Definetly illegal. If only people would see beyond themselves it would not be an issue. Also see

So if it is illegal, who is it that is committing the crime?

Obviously the individual who actually does the abortion.

The woman/child female? Does age make a difference? Does coercion?

As to the mother, does it make a difference if this is the first one, or one or more additional abortions?

There certainly have been discussions (public) that if it is to be criminalized, it should be the individual doing the abortion and not the woman, given that in many cases the woman is either coerced or believes she has no alternative.

Very hard to say. Ethically and morally, yes, it should be illegal. It stops the beating heart of a fetus that will grow into a viable human being.

However, I think the Fourteenth Amendment of the US Constitution supports abortion on demand.

People should be taught to respect life from the moment they can understand. That’s really the only way to stop abortion, and even that won’t eliminate it completely. It’s a sad situation.

Edited to correct typo that changed the meaning.

You are presuming, it appears, that dirt bags think with anything except their hormones…

It should be up to the states. The word Abortion is nowhere in the Constitution.

Dca2018 is likely right in that it is more likely that the SC may eventually overrule Roe vs. Wade and related cases.

Less likely is that the SC would come out and say that abortion is the taking of an innocent life, hence murder. That would effectively challenge any state which refused to protect the life of the child in any significant way.

Amendment IVThe right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It looks like ConstantLerner is focusing on the “secure in their persons”. That has nothing to do with abortions; it concerns searches and seizures by a government entity.
