Yes - this is a society problem though. It is thought by ‘society’ to be ok. Anyone with health insurance an any country would likely have the same issues?? But, free health care has meant that my severe depression and anxity disorder was treated, my pneumonia was treated, my children were delivered in hispital etc, etc. Also if I had not had treatment, I would have continued to be houseboud, unable to work and would have been caught in a viscious circle unable to afford the help needed to pay for help. Agoraphobia = no job = no money = no help = no possibility of ever getting better = poor parenting = etc. etc.One thing that NHS brings to mind is now everyone will be able to afford an abortion, get an abortion, get IVF treatments or some other immoral thing.
Do I really want my funds to go to that?
How does it work in Scotland? Is everything under the sun covered or are some things not covered, Abortions, IVF etc?
You can see the predicament I would have been in if not for the NHS. This would have been the same for every person with a debilitating illness. I am all for the NHS. I consider tha abortion problem to be a societal and political problem. Yes the NHS do perform abortions. In the UK you would be hard pressed to find hospitals that don’t. You cannot take away treatment for the ill on the basis that people are having abortions. The abortions will not decrease by that however, the death rate would increase. Aborted babies + untreated people = more deaths.
In any case, tax is not optional. You have to pay it. ‘Give to Ceasar what is Ceasar’s’ . I hardly think the abortion rate is less in the US where healthcare is not free than the abortion rate here.
