Should Christians support Palestine?

Jewish people are wonderful and have a beautiful faith, but the Israeli Government is not by any means an extension of that faith. Nor are all of their actions supported by the people of Israel. Nor are all the Israeli citizens Zionists (a fact that surprises many Americans).

Interesting you should say that because it seems to me lots of people have difficulty differentiating between the Israeli people/government and the Jewish faith.

I think there’s some people who need to look at the Biblical promises about the Jews! The Muslims want to destroy Israel because of the prejudices of their prophet - and it amazes me how infected with the secular world people are that they follow the Liberal line and want to side with the Levantine Arabs who are pawns in the Islamic plan for destruction of Israel. There is nothing the Muslims will not do - smuggle bombs in limb prostheses, use pregnant women for attacks etc etc. Against that mentality it is inevitable that harsh measures will be necessary.

People of Greek or probably more correctly Aegean origin who came to the area sometime between the 14th and the 12th Century B.C.and fought the Hebrews almost continuously from the time the Hebrews arrived until they were defeated by the Hebrews under David. They are one of many lineages that Palestinians claim to be descended from. That is one of the ironic aspects of this struggle. The modern Palestinians and the modern Jews probably share a lot of ancestry.

No, that is pretty well known. What some people here need to look at is Jewish history and religion, where they will discover that the Israeli Jews of today do not necessarily have anything at all in common with the Israelites nor with the Jews who followed Jesus and formed the basis of Christianity. It is those Jewish people that I as a Catholic see as the ones to whom God made his promises. I just can not consider those who shun (and often horribly slander) the Son of God to be the people to whom God made those promises.

Christians should not be supporting Palestine especially since its not a nation but a fiction in the minds of Arab-Islamic seperatists/terrorists who want not only Muslim control over Jerusalem but Muslim domination over non Muslims.

In fact, when former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak from the left-leaning Labour-led government offered to return all the land known as Occupied Palestine Territory (OPT) which comprise of West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, the Arab-Islamic leader the late Yassir Arafat refused the generous 2-state solution, one Jewish and one Arab. He demanded right of return of millions of Muslim “refugees” to Israel proper. These so-called “refugees” are purposely used by Muslim countries that host them as an open sore to blame Israel and the West. Why don’t Saudi Arabia which hosts many so-called “refugees” assimilate them?

Arabs/Muslims actually want domination over all cultures and will never be satisfied until Israel and the kaafir is no more. If Israel is accused of being a “racist” state, then what about Arab Egypt’s racism towards ethnic Copts? What about Arab Palestine’s racism towards ethnic Greek/Melkites, ethnic Syriacs and ethnic Jews?

Look how Christians suffer persecution in the hands of the 22 Arab Islamic States? Anyone who did honest history study will know North Africans are not Arabs but Arabised due to Islamisation. The same for the Middle East which was Aramaic-speaking region which was forced converted to Islam through Arabisation and Jizyah and Kharaj.

If Muslims want an independent Palestine State, they should first grant equal rights to ALL religions and make it easier to register a religious organisation and also easier to share the Gospel with Muslims. Christians should not be imprisoned in jail for trying to convert Muslims, nor should ex-Muslims be punished.

I do not support Palestine/Arabism and I am firmly for Israel/Zionism because of strategic reasons. However, I am aware of the need to convert Muslims to Christ our God to bring lasting Middle Eastern peace.

Of course christians should support a nation for their fellow christians!

I donno. I recently came back from Israel and visited the holy places in the Palestinian territories. Some of the most wonderful people I’ve encountered were Christian Palestinians. I do understand Israel’s position and can’t blame them for responding the way they do, but from what I observed first hand, many of them just want to live in peace.

I’ve gotten very leery of any 'journalism’ dealing with the whole issue.
Who know which of those photos are really what they are being passed of to be…
For example in the first link there are two photos of a man and boy hiding next to a wall. In the first photo they are alive. In the second photo they are dead, shot. Investigation has shown that they are Palestine who were involved in a staged riot against an Israeli post. The two were shot, not by the Israelis but by the Palestinians in the staged attack… they were purposely killed by their own people to get some really juicy news.
You will also recognize Mr. Green Hat Man as he is called in the links below. He was involved in the gathering of news for the Gana bombing… the problem is, well the dead baby that game off the refrigerator truck… in the videos below note the very grey colored baby. I don’t know if the links below show this… but when the raw videos of the footage were first leaked they included raw footage of some victims getting in place, getting ready for the camera. In one scene there were kids in part of the collapsed building. The kids were supposed to be dead. But they kept squiring around, peeking to see what was going on.
Yes the Gana bombing was bad… but staging false news footage is wrong because now we know we cannot trust the news coming out of there.

The desire of the Muslims living in this region to have an independant state is not a fiction, nor is it unreasonable. If this is your arguement than Israel need to pack up and leave as well, it’s also a modern creation populated by a group of Jews with little or no ethnic ties to the ancient state of Israel.

This is as stupid as saying that because the US and the UK refused to take Germany’s Jews they are to blame for the holocaust.

Israel is a racist state because it enforces an aparthied based on race. Very very few Jews in Israel are religious, in fact Israel as the largest percentage of people that self identify as atheists in the world. While the Muslims most certainly continue (as Muslims have always done everywhere they’ve ruled) to oppress religious minorities it is a religious issue and not a racial one.

Zionism is nothing but Nazism for Jews, there certainly can be no lasting peace with that sort of state in any region.

The belief that the Jewish people has a right to a homeland, just like all other people in the world is, in your opinion, equivalent to some bizarre theories of racial purity and extermination of inferiors?

Christians in Israel are not beaten and murdered, their houses and publishing houses not burned down, their children not abducted and forcible converted to Judaism, etc etc… All in all, I know where I’d like to live as a Christian if I could chose only between Israel and the Arab nations…and it would NOT be the Arabs.

I am by no means a scholar, or even particularly well-informed, on this topic. So I go by “guilt by association.” I ask myself: Who are the people who primarily support the Palestinians and are opposed to the Israelis? I then look at their stand on virtually every other topic, whether spiritual, political, or social.

For some reason, a suicide bomber killing five Israeli civilians on a bus has more shock value than Israeli troops massacring a village whom they “thought was hostile.” Both are completely wrong, but because of worldwide Israeli sympathy, partly for the Holocaust and “terrorized” nation, one seems much worse than the other.
