You should definitely get it. A Catechism promulgated by a Sainted Pope (St. Pius V) and overseen by another saint in charge of priestly formation (St. Charles Borromeo) is a good thing just from a credibility standpoint.
Remember, it was written for priests so, there is a wealth of information in it that is valuable as a meditation as well as being informative.
Cardinal Newman thought it was indispensible and then-Card. Ratzinger called it something like the Catechism that is the measure by which all others are judged.
Cardinal Schonborn also recommended it said something to the effect of, “No one is forbidden to read this Catechism because we have the new one. It has some very, very beautiful things in it.”
