I want to see the scene when she walks into the wrong 'loo and screams “oh bugger!” 🙂

I apologize to the op for helping derail this thread somewhat - but its nice to see CatFers can see the lighter side of things…sometimes (there is precious little left in this world I fear!)

Spock was once caught coming out of the women’s restroom.

He explained that he was simply going where no man has gone before!

Glad to hear it! Of all the movies, that’s the only one I would say that they got ‘right’

Portraying practising homosexuals as heroes? That’s not OK, right?
Assuming that anyone can’t be a hero simply because s/he is gay is immoral and in violation of Catholic theology. They’re human, just like everyone else.

It’s the worst star trek series ever. For a variety of reasons. Save yourself the trouble and don’t bother.

It is an effort to make sinful behavior appear perfectly normal.

Is that what you want to support?

Like others have said, it’s completely up to you. I know I decided to stop watching Doctor Who this year since the main character changed from a man to a woman
@greenrangerx
Do you mean there is a new Doctor, and she’s female: or that the old Doctor was transformed?
It just ain’t right. They made The Master a woman too.
—OOO–kay. Not gonna watch any more Who.

I don’t see why not.

Even if you believe homosexuality is wrong (I can’t say that I do, but that’s besides the point), a person doesn’t have to be perfect to be a hero. Noah was a drunk, Samson was a lech, David was overly proud. Only two sinless humans exist, the rest of us have flaws.

I don’t know… I thought Michelle Gomez was brilliant as Missy. I preferred her character and plot lines sooooo much more than John Simm as the Master. She always seemed way more deadly and way more of an opponent to the Doctor than the Master.

But we digress…

Don’t watch Star Trek. Ever.

Problem solved.

You’re welcome. 👵🚬

Are you of the body?

I’ve been watching Star Trek Discovery on Netflix and it turns out that two of the heroes are gay, in a relationship, sharing the same quarters and have just kissed before one of them risks his life in the war against the Klingons. Only he has the DNA to activate the trans-dimensional drive to complete the mission.

I stopped it there.

Like many shows, it is portraying a homosexual couple in a noble light in order to promote the real life politics of the LGBT movement (it takes considerable naivety and/or denial not to think this isn’t the aim of the writers and producers in various spheres of media).

So no, I wouldn’t recommend watching it. I’ve just seen clips of the series on Youtube. The special effects and space battles are nice looking (of course they are) but otherwise the show isn’t very compelling imo.

Have you noticed the absence of religion (or almost complete absence) in the future on Star Trek?

The new Doctor is female. When Peter Capaldi’s Doctor regenerated, he became a woman (portrayed by Jodie Whittaker). Those episodes are currently airing on BBC America.
