Somehow I wonder how artificial birth control could be gravely against God’s law. In reading about the Pontifical Commission on Birth Control, it had 72 members from five continents, included 16 theologians, 16 bishops and seven cardinals and still came out with a majority recommendation to Pope Paul VI in 1966 to allow artificial birth control. The minority and dissenting report included only seven people. It’s hard to understand how so many bishops, cardinals and theologians could have gotten this all wrong. For everyone it is gravely contrary to God’s law. Not just Catholics. There are many evangelicals who have arrived back at the Catholic teaching on their own. This grave sin is knowable to those outside the Faith. We certainly do them no favors pretending it is “ok” for them.
