For everyone it is gravely contrary to God’s law. Not just Catholics. There are many evangelicals who have arrived back at the Catholic teaching on their own. This grave sin is knowable to those outside the Faith. We certainly do them no favors pretending it is “ok” for them.
Somehow I wonder how artificial birth control could be gravely against God’s law. In reading about the Pontifical Commission on Birth Control, it had 72 members from five continents, included 16 theologians, 16 bishops and seven cardinals and still came out with a majority recommendation to Pope Paul VI in 1966 to allow artificial birth control. The minority and dissenting report included only seven people. It’s hard to understand how so many bishops, cardinals and theologians could have gotten this all wrong. 🤷

Well, they did.

Hello Chrisshayes

It is nice that you are not trying to justify sin but are at least acknowledging it. For that you should find some peace and consolation for your truthfulness.

One of my friends is a gynecologist. He has been in practise many years . He always looks serene whenever he speaks of how throughout his years in medicine he has never once aided and abbetted an abortion or wrote out a prescription for contraceptive chemicals.

I would only suggest you read the following link since it will bring you good news.

I suppose that it would be ok to prescirbe bc pill to non catholic girls, as for them it is not sinful…
Not necessarily true, @eamonnroma. Just because a person is not Catholic does not mean they cannot sin; they just don’t recognize their sin. As Catholics, we can still participate in their sin by advocating their actions or intent. That’s why it’s important to speak to a priest or Bishop on this matter and seek their guidance.

Thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut, guys. Sounds like the consensus is that I should not receive the Eucharist, at least until I can talk to a priest. Please pray for me.

True. But more importantly, the credibility of such people (and don’t forget they were only a small representation of all Catholics) came into question. This couldn’t have been good for the Church.

What I see is that most Catholics have voted with their feet. By that I mean they just ignore the teaching on contraception. I do not any more see Catholic families with 8 or 9 children, which means that they use contraception. I know that, at least in Europe, priests advise people to follow their conscience, as do nowadays many of the Irresistible churches.

I would go further and say that ii is morally reprehensible to to teach in many 3rd world countries that it is sinful. Then denying the use of condoms as protection to communities where aids is rife is also sinful.
