Should I stop drinking Pepsi products considering that I know that the Pepsi company supports the homosexual agenda?

Hi everyone. I became aware a couple of years ago that the Pepsi company overtly supports the homosexual agenda. At first, I boycotted Pepsi company. But I soon started to drink Pepsi products again. Am I committing a sin by buying a product that I know the owning company supports an immoral agenda?

Honestly, if you boycotted every product that was crafted by companies that supported some form of sin, you’d be living in a shack made out of leaves and dog faeces out in a forrest somewhere.

There are lists online of companies that support Unplanned Parenthood and thus abortion, everything from Coke to American express, to Ford and Microsoft. You can’t really win.

Of course I am exaggerating, but if you really want to boycott these places and products, you will have to do your homework.

Me, I’m screwed either way, because my taxes fund abortions, and pro-gay programmes whether I want them too or not, so, I try to tip the balance of the cosmos by donating more money to pro-life and other Catholic charities.

This.

But I would still stop drinking pepsi because it’s bad for you.

Let me see. I know a few gays casually, I’ve worked with a few. There is a gay couple in my SIL’s extended family…yet none of them, when asked, can tell me just what the gay agenda is. I guess the memos must not have reached them yet.

Try as we might, its near impossible to keep ourselves from everything that supports some form of sin in a secular world. We can make up for this with our Faith in God’s Mercy, and living as closely to our values as we possibly can given our environment. Most of the time we’re totally unaware of what we support.

If it bothers you that Pepsi supports something that you don’t believe in, then by all means don’t buy their products. In the grand scheme of things, it’s a pretty small sacrifice to give it up.

This of course, is just my :twocents:

I think that is a sensible answer. Holly, does the satisfaction of boycotting Pepsi outweigh the satisfaction of drinking Pepsi? I think its a personal decision.

This rings true. Perhaps they can get on one of Pat Robertson’s email lists? He seems to be in the know.

Actually, that’s not an exaggeration at all. All those companies do directly support planned parent hood, or make large donations to groups that support planned parenthood.

I did a little experiment a while back, and could not find one company that didn’t support it in some manner, the overwhelming majority directly support it 😦

Here’s an interesting list of companies that admit to directly contributing. It’s hard to find a business of any size that’s not a subsidiary of one of the companies on this list which covers everything from 3M to Sony, and every computer company any of us are likely to be using right now:blush:

Ummm, Lutheranteach, last I checked, I did not create this thread for you to come in here and try to tell me that there is no homosexual agenda.

Again, this is NOT the thread to discuss what is or is not the homosexual agenda!

If you cannot refrain from discussing the homosexual agenda, could you at least discuss it in your own thread?!

What? Who? What the ?!?!?!?

Uh I guess if we’re just spouting of random thoughts, not connected to the subject or flow of the conversation…

I don’t like how Smith and Wesson uses a saftey that is disengaged by an upward movement of the thumb. I prefer the downward motion such as on 1911 model .45s:confused:

Oh… and I’m opposed to eating yellow snow:thumbsup:

You raised the issue of whether patronizing a company that supports the homosexual agenda is moral. A valid question is what is the homosexual agenda. If the homosexual agenda does not exist, this answers your question.

But either way, let me ask in the way of getting it back on track: how did you find out the Pepsi Cola Co. supports what you term the homosexual agenda? What specifically do they support? This may give help the analysis of the interesting question you raised.

For example, if someone told me that a certain sporting goods company supported environmentalists, I would want to know whether they supported the nearly-terrorists at Green Peace or merely donated to the National Parks.

Please define “supports the homosexual agenda”.

Do you mean that they offer health benefits to same sex partners? Basic health care is a social justice issue, we cannot discriminate and say one person is more worthy than the other.

Or do you mean they have special lounges in every office where homosexuals can come have sex orgies during work hours but they do not provide the same lounges for hetrosexual couples? Yeah, I’d boycott them for that.

The former.

I empathize with your dilemma; as stated by others on this thread the number of companies that have fallen into the secular and moral relativism of our culture is vast. I myself have recently purchased a Chrysler after having driven Fords for many years because of Ford’s very open advertizing in homosexual lifestyle magazines and their publicized financial support of the homosexual life style.

For those who have expressed a lack of understanding of the homosexual “agenda” on this thread, my belief is that the homosexual “agenda” is the dispute of Catholic Church teaching on the issue.

The homosexual agenda is an attempt to “normalize” an activity that is sinful. That is a basic truth that moral relativism discounts. The Catholic Church does not condemn people with homosexual tendencies only the immoral act itself; just as it condemns the heterosexual act between unmarried individuals. Surely no one believes that if homosexual marriage is made legal, the homosexual act would then be OK. The intended purpose of the sex act is for procreation of the human race as intended by our creator. This is why the Church is totally consistent in its teaching regarding contraception and homosexual activity.

Thanks for answering the question…

Just about all of humanity masturbates, why don’t we ever hear about the masturbatory agenda? If you want to talk about the normalization of a sinful activity, masturbation oand sexual thoughts would fit the bill. If you raise the point, but there are no special interest groups furthering the masturbatory agenda!

They don’t need to, just about every human alive masturbates…a sinful activity, yet nearly everyone does it.

If nearly all of humanity took part in gay sex, you’d better believe there wouldn’t be any special interest groups promoting it…it’d be a fact of life…like masturbation.

In any event, I highly doubt that homosexuals have much concern over their choice of sexual partner being approved of by the Catholic Church.
