Should I stop drinking Pepsi products considering that I know that the Pepsi company supports the homosexual agenda?

Hi everyone. I became aware a couple of years ago that the Pepsi company overtly supports the homosexual agenda. At first, I boycotted Pepsi company. But I soon started to drink Pepsi products again. Am I committing a sin by buying a product that I know the owning company supports an immoral agenda?
It’s not a sin, because at the very least it’s REMOTE cooperation. However, if it is something you believe in, then I think you should continue your boycott. My husband and I boycott all Pepsi products (including the soft drinks, Frito Lay products, Lipton Tea, Quaker Oats, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut to name a few of their subsidiaries) for this reason, do I think that we’re making Pepsi think twice about it? No, probably not, chances are small that they’ve noticed that this family of 2 1/2 is not purchasing their products. Does it make us feel better that our money is not going to promote this agenda? Yes.

I’m on the AFA action alert email list which is often VERY over the top, but when we got this one, I researched it. It’s not just health care benefits, it’s also a huge amount of money going to GLAAD, and in some instances classes that employees are forced to take that tell them that homosexuals are good/normal/no different than heterosexual couples. My husband and I, personally, are not OK with our money going to fund these types of activities. But, we aren’t going to tell someone else that they’re sinning by supporting them.

For what it’s worth, recently AFA sent out an email that reported (I didn’t research this fully yet) that PepsiCo’s donations to GLAAD and other homosexual causes had significantly dropped in the last fiscal year.

On this one, I think you can follow your conscience. 🙂

Ok, I am sick of this. I am sick of people using my thread to question and insult me about the homosexual agenda. Mods, please lock this thread.

You don’t want anyone to discuss the homosexual agenda in a thread where you brought up the homosexual agenda?

I’ve gone through back through the thread…not one person insulted you. 🤷

Thanks for answering the question…

Just about all of humanity masturbates, why don’t we ever hear about the masturbatory agenda? If you want to talk about the normalization of a sinful activity, masturbation oand sexual thoughts would fit the bill. If you raise the point, but there are no special interest groups furthering the masturbatory agenda!

They don’t need to, just about every human alive masturbates…a sinful activity, yet nearly everyone does it.

If nearly all of humanity took part in gay sex, you’d better believe there wouldn’t be any special interest groups promoting it…it’d be a fact of life…like masturbation.

In any event, I highly doubt that homosexuals have much concern over their choice of sexual partner being approved of by the Catholic Church.
I am not sure where your statistics come from or how you are aware of how many people masturbate; however, I suspect it is in your own circle of acquaintances. I also don’t know how many people you think are “most” people. I suspect that the number is similar to the number that practice homosexual activity and illicit heterosexual activity. Perhaps this is the reason we are told;

For many are called but few are chosen. St. Mark 20:16

Lord, are there few that are saved? But he said to them: Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I tell you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able. St. Luke 13:23-24

Enter ye in at the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in there. How narrow is the gate and how strait is the way that leads to life, and few there are that find it! St. Matthew 7:13-14

Be one of the small number who find the way to life, and enter by the narrow gate into Heaven. Take care not to follow the majority and the common herd, so many of whom are lost. Do not be deceived; there are only two roads: one that leads to life and is narrow; the other that leads to death and is wide. There is no middle way. St. Louis Marie de Montfort

Holly, I really was interested in this question, and I certainly wasn’t insulting you.
But either way, let me ask in the way of getting it back on track: how did you find out the Pepsi Cola Co. supports what you term the homosexual agenda? What specifically do they support?

I hear that term used, and I have no clue what people mean when they say Pepsi supports the homosexual agenda.

If Holly would explain what that means, it would be great.

The thread is about whether or not I should drink Pepsi products. If it were about the homosexual agenda, I would have made it clear in the title. I did not do that. Instead, I asked whether or not I should drink Pepsi products. Big difference!

What it means is that Pepsi, in the past at least, has funded many different homosexual “rights” groups. They have also included “tolerance classes” about homosexuality for their employees.

This rings true. Perhaps they can get on one of Pat Robertson’s email lists? He seems to be in the know.

Pax,
OA
My best friend from school is a lesbian. I asked her about the gay agenda. She said the gay men arent’ organised enough, they’re too busy shopping, but the lesbians (she used the “D” word) are working hard behind the scenes to ensure all men are turned gay so they can make good puddings and all women are made lesbian to ensure there’s enough to go around. However, she said ugly women will be mated with the good looking gay men to make okay looking future lesbians.

Seriously.

There are many people, like myself, that have no idea what the “homosexual agenda” is. Therefore in order to have a meaningful discussion we must define the term. No one has insulted you. It is my guess that the reason you will not define what you mean is because you do not actually know what the “homosexual agenda” is yourself.

You should avoid Pepsi.

These are common acts, you would have to boycott almost all companies. I do not know of any large scale companies that do not have a anti-discrimination policy and some type of training.

I would need to see some more information about “funding”. Every corporation gives to charities. If I were to boycott every corporation that gave to planned parenthood or March of Dimes or some other group that pays to kill babies - I’d have to live in a cave and grow my own food, spin my own wool and have no electricity.

Anti-discrimination training is required by law, every corporation has their Human Resources department head up such training. This teaches that employees cannot create a hostile work enviornment based on race, geneder, sexual orientation, disability, religion, etc. These classes assure me that no one can mock me an the office and call me that “stupid Catholic midget girl”.

The Church teaching in the Catechism (bold added) would show these classes are important.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Best Gym teacher I ever had…we were in health class / sex ed and the subject of masturbation came up…the class bully piped up loudly saying ’ that’s disgusting’, instantly shaming everyone in the class room.

The gym teacher took the opportunity to say;

’ You know, 99% of everyone masturbates…the other 1% are liars.’

That shut the bully up. 😃

True story.

Also to point out, that many LGBT heavily fund for anti-discrimination. Gay Men are still heavily succeptable to Gay-Bashing violence, they also still have a high teen suicide rate. I think its certainly moral to fund these type of actions.

I eat and drink what I like. Holly, if “you” feel strongly about this, then don’t drink Pepsi, providing you have done some “fact finding”.

I agree with poster who stated we would be without electricity if we went boycott crazy. Don’t let the paranoia of some get to you. Homosexuals do not have an agenda. I work for Uncle Sam and we have anti discrimination laws. I wouldn’t care if I worked with a gay man or a lesbian. Their bedroom is their business and they have a right to work in a non hostile work place just like anyone else. Their are 3 sets of gay men that live in my neighborhood. They pay taxes, buy groceries and are responsible citizens. I make it policy not to peer into their bedroom and they don’t peer into mine.

Sorry, your gym teacher doesn’t carry a lot of weight with me. I agree that there are probably MANY people who practice masturbation, just as there are many people who practice illicit sex with each other of both genders. This is why I posted the link to the many statements by many saints and Christ himself that the road to salvation is narrow and few are able to follow that path.

Our concern should be more for the immortal souls of individuals trapped by these sins rather then for their “feelings” in this world.

I agree; it seems a problem to me, however, that these groups inevitably seek certain privileges for homosexual relationships that violate our beliefs. An analogy might be how PP is still wrong, even though they provide helpful STD testing.

Maybe we need to work harder to support Catholic groups who support homosexuals in the ways you mentioned, without supporting a homosexual lifestyle?

If Pepsi promote evil as good then it would be morally virtous to give it up. Their advertising and celebrity worship is frankly embarassing anyway.
It would be a great and holy sacrifice. There is no sin from drinking it though. It will only dissolve your teeth not your soul.

I gave up masturbation a while back…WIth grace its not as hard as you’d think…oh and it keeps your souls from the perils of grave sin
