From what I’ve been able to dig up it seemst he Kamao is a term used at the time of this translation to indicate a popular styling of hair that women used where they braided, trussed up and more ornamental style of hair. It did not seem to indicate long hair in general but a more specific style that females wore at the time.
I think long hair was pretty common in biblical times but men generally just had plain long hair oppsoed to the more ornamental styled hair of a woman.
So, I don’t hink you’d be sinning if you were a man and had long hair and I don’t believe there is a church teaching on the subject either.

I just explained to you that the translation of “long hair” isn’t completely correct, it refers more to a female style of hair not just simply long hair.

Well, I didn’t know we have people that post here that don’t have english as a first language so I wasn’t sure it that was the case here.
From what I can find it seems like the definition on that website isn’t wrong but imprecise. Komao is a type of long hair style but does not mean long hair in general.
At the very least the term would be ambiguous, but it seems like the translation is just not quite as precise as it should be.

Also note that Nazirites (Samson, Samuel, John) didn’t cut their hair.

I think the point of the message and the ‘style of the hair’ etc, is that men should not attempt to ‘look like women’. That is they shouldn’t purposely wear their hair in a way to make others think they are a woman. Does that mean they can’t have long hair? No. But should a man be wearing pig tails with pink ribbons? Likely not.

Trichinos is the greek word for hair. Komao is rooted from the feminine noun kome. Komao is the verb form of Kome, a feminine noun.
I’m no expert of greek though, so maybe someone who is can give you a better answer.

God wants long hair. He instructs the priests to keep the hair trimmed, and neat. Meaning don’t shave it all off, he hates sweat, it’s in eziekiel at the end I believe when he talkes about priest, and grooming themselves.
