Should men have their ears pierced?

I was watching tv and I had had it. I was sick of seeing men wearing earrings on almost every channel. I made this poll to see how many agree that men with earrings are not a good thing.
 
Sorry; I guess it’s a cultural thing, but I’m just too old to see it as anything but weird. But if you wear them I’ll try to keep quiet about it.
 
above the sanctuary in our parish is a large (15 ft X 6 ft) painting of the last supper…

St Peter has an ear ring in one ear. Artist rendition i suppose…

I don’t have a concern… Most of the apostles are wearing flip flops, toga’s, sporting long untrimmed beards and mustaches…

different strokes for different folks i guess…

could have been that way… who knows…
 
I chose the first option. I think it’s totally weird, but I don’t think there’s technically anything morally wrong with it. That being said, if I’m going to hire someone and both candidates are equal in competency, but one has an earring, I’ll choose the one without the earring.

Christ will react like the Sacred Heart Brothers that raised me in Catholic school…“Go home and take all that junk off and then come back and see me**!!!”

i have one ear pierced…there’s nothing wrong with it. i did have to take it out when i was going to a catholic school in junior high, though.

Just take a walk down the streets of New Orleans and see what they will be thinking next is here today and now.

A nose ring is nothing. They are piercing their entire backs with rings and running ribbon through those rings to make a corset like thing. I have seen men and women with piercings all over their faces.

But thats from being married. Its invisible, but I assure you that its there!!!

Whenever I see a male w/ an earing I find myself checking to see which ear it’s on then I start to wonder…:hmmm:
Why would a “real man” want to even think of wearing somthing that is equated w/ being feminine??? Maybe I’m “rash judging” or… just too getting old…:cool:
 
men in many cultures have been wearing ear rings for thousands of years. it has nothing to do with being feminine, i assure you.

I check to see what ear it is in too. Doesn’t a particular ear mean that you are homosexual?

I think that this used to be true but I don’t believe that most younger people even know this rule anymore.
 
Its kinda sad when we have to debate whether or not men can wear earrings and whether god is okay with it. Who cares? Its an EARRING. I mean, I think its kinda gross to put holes in yourself (that being said I have my ears pierced, Im a girl) but does it matter the gender. In all sorts of cultures men have earrings and most guys do it to be cool, not act gay. Is it really such an issue to wear a little earring? Somehow I doubt god cares about such trivial issues.

I personally could care less if someone has a ear pierced. Then again I have a live and let die attitude. I could care less if someone pierces the soles of their feet. I do find it troubling that people pierce their privates. Why would any sane person cause themselves pain there? On a personal level, I would never let my underage sons pierce themselves.
