Thank you BlueEyedLady and bcPrincess for your comments. You are both very kind. I hope the moderators won’t mind if I hi-jack the thread to tell you a bit more of my story.
As you will have seen I met Dot when I was 35 in 1984 but, in fact, I had known her since we were in school 1954-1960. Dot has these grainy b&w class photos for the six years and she is always only two/three kids away from me. Keeping her eye on me even then she says! We didn’t mix but we were part of the same class. I saw her in the street a couple of times as teenagers and passed the time of day for a couple of minutes. Strange thought that we both remember those incidents! Dots father had a little local jewellery shop. When my Mum died in 1989 we were sorting things out and we found a string of pearls still in a monogrammed box - from Dots fathers shop. She started crying and told me that as a girl of 17 she remembers my Mum coming in every week and paying something off them until she had paid for them. Dot actually remembers giving the pearls to my mother. Dots two daughters were married wearing these pearls and Dot very proudly wore them when we were married in 2009.
Can you imagine if Capt. Kirk was there and told them that while my mother was actually buying the pearls, the two (as yet unborn) daughters of this 17 year old girl would wear them when they got married and that this 17 year old would wear them - when she married her son - 43 years later!!
The Lord works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform.
Sorry for posting this but I thought it would be nice to round off my earlier post. Thanks for reading it and Blessings to you.
