If only it were that easy for the victims of childhood sexual abuse.Thats fine. So the press did their job. Now we all know about it and the bishops are handling it. Now can we all move on? Sheese.

There are no easy answers there…Except that someday they will give account with their soul…That millstone thing seems very scary to me…If only it were that easy for the victims of childhood sexual abuse.
And does all of us arguing with each other somehow help them?If only it were that easy for the victims of childhood sexual abuse.
You call it arguing, I call it talking. By talking, people are forced to open their eyes to the abuses that have taken place within their Church. And does all of us arguing with each other somehow help them?
Thats because you’re not Catholic. As a Catholic, I am sick of the constant hijacking of this issue by the press as a means to destroy and malign the Church. It would be like if they still ran stories about Japanese internment camps everyday. Hey: We get it already. Time to move on.You call it arguing, I call it talking…
The press only reports what the public wants to know about. The public wants to know if there are abuses, if there have been cover ups, what’s been done to the abusers and what’s being done to avoid such things in the future. If no one cared, there wouldn’t be one story about the abuses. As a Catholic, I am sick of the constant hijacking of this issue by the press as a means to destroy and malign the Church
If they discovered new internment camps, or attempts to cover up abuses…I’d absolutely want to read about it.It would be like if they still ran stories about Japanese internment camps everyday. Hey: We get it already. Time to move on.
If abuses have happened, the abuses need to be exposed to the light of day. If anyone is being lead astray, I suspect it has more to do with the abusers, than it does the media exposing the abuses.Fortunately, I know that the Catholic Church is the True Church of God, and no earthly power can destroy it. But what they CAN do is confuse some of the faithful and lead them astray.
Closing your eyes, covering your ears, singing “La,La,La,La” , and wishing it would all go away does no good either. And does all of us arguing with each other somehow help them?
I don’t know any of them. So me sitting here wallowing is news stories does not do them a lick of good
Are you really that naive? The press only reports what makes *the press *money, period. The press only reports what the public wants to know about. The public wants to know if there are abuses, if there have been cover ups, what’s been done to the abusers and what’s being done to avoid such things in the future. If no one cared, there wouldn’t be one story about the abuses.
Wow that one link was gross, didn’t stay there long…Is that website legitimately Catholic run ?If you don’t want to know about it from the media’s perspective that’s one thing. But if you wish, you could enlighten yourself by reading Church documents.

Here are the documents used by the NYTimes for their article.

Hey man, thats rude, not to mention the fact that it has NOTHING to do with what I said.Closing your eyes, covering your ears, singing “La,La,La,La” , and wishing it would all go away does no good either…
To make money, the press needs to report on things that the public cares about. Are you really that naive? The press only reports what makes *the press *money, period.
If you mean does the site have any official standing or approval from any Catholic authority, then no.Wow that one link was gross, didn’t stay there long…Is **that website legitimately Catholic run **?
BishopAccountability.org, Inc. is a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. Its president is Terence McKiernan, its treasurer is Ted O’Neill, and its clerk is Anne Barrett Doyle.
It seems to be a few people in MA that just collect information regarding alleged clerical abuse. They might (or might not) be Catholic individuals but the organization is not a Catholic one.The members of the Board of Directors are Sylvia Demarest, Anne Barrett Doyle, Terence McKiernan, Ted O’Neill, and Lee Podles.
Everyone who believes that please stand on your headsTo make money, the press needs to report on things that the public cares about.
If the press reported on things that the public didn’t care about, they wouldn’t make any money.
I don’t agree, not in the least. These aren’t attacks at all, but news stories that are bringing to a light very serious allegations of sexual abuse at the hands of a priest and how poorly the police, prosecutors, the local dicoese and the Vatican handled it.these are obviously attacks by Satan & other dark forces.
You are correct.19 posts have been deleted just now because they were off topic. If this thread departs topic again it will be closed and citations may be issued.
Get back on the topic of “Should Pope Benedict Resign?” and stay there please.
I think we need a definition of "cares’.To make money, the press needs to report on things that the public cares about.
