Yes, the idea that people should be free to worship Satan/evil is a joke and a sign of how intellectually impoverished our culture is.
This was mentioned earlier. Satanist generally do not believe that Satan exist. the most common type of Satanist is one that follows it certain philosophy about the self.

Take a look at the history of people prosecuted over spectral evidence to get a better idea of why.
Which is precisely why it should not be necessary to prove that demons actually came, but only that the person conjured them, since that is provable using natural means of evidence.

Just look at the Salem witch trials to see how dangerous it would be to make any religion illegal. A lot of people do not believe Demons exist, so how would one prove that someone conjured a demon. Freedom of religion means you can worship any God, Sun, Planet, Spaghetti monster, or even Demon if you do that peacefully and respectfully.

Just look at the Salem witch trials to see how dangerous it is to have a government.

Just look at the Holocaust to see how dangerous it is to imprison anyone.

Etc.

They’re all fallacies, just like your argument.

It could be proved through witnesses, a recording, or a confession.

Attempting to conjure demons isn’t considered a threat to public health or safety.

I went to school with friends that looked in the mirror and repeated “Candyman” three times. Nothing happened. “Beetlejuice” wasn’t any more effective either.

How could it be proved? I’m sorry, but you cannot make any Religion illegal, this would be a horrible slippery slope to go down.

I’m not going to answer the same exact question twice.
There has NEVER been a **proven **scientific “Demon conjuring” by witness, recording, or confession.

So to simply answer your question again, Satanism should NOT be illegal and never will be, just as any other religion should be. It’s that big Number 1 on the bill of rights:

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.

And when a Christian kills someone because ‘god made him do it’, every Christian in the country should lose their first amendment rights, too.

Sorry bud, doesn’t work that way.
Worshipping evil is not a religion, sorry.

Religion -

-a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

This thread has been dormant for a considerable period. With rare exceptions, reviving threads after a protracted period of inactivity is discouraged because:
  • the issues that spurred them are often no longer “hot” or current topics, explaining why thread activity ceased originally.
  • posters originally involved in the discussion are sometimes no longer active on the forum and, therefore, unavailable to reply to comments added to the thread.
Our experience suggests that, when a topic merits revival, it is best accomplished by initiating a new thread that draws on recent events and can be posted to contemporaneously. This eliminates the baggage of folks being frustrated by asking and not receiving responses to issues raised in early posts (because the new poster didn’t notice that the post he was responding to was made a long time ago).

Posters are very welcome to open a new thread on the subject or any other topic, as well as to actively participate in the myriad active threads in the fora.
