On Matthew it is saying the disciples were being accused of transgressing against the traditions of the elders by the scribes and pharisees. But the accusers didn’t even realize their traditions were transgressing against the law the God

Their traditions were unbiblical, yet they held on to them. No scriptural support. They had no problem killing people, stoning, and so on. Sound familiar?
You know, it is quite apparent from reading this thread that you seem to think everyone will instantly know what you are referring to.

Guess what? We don’t actually spend alot of time reading the falsehoods others post against the Catholic Church. You really need to be more specific. Like in your first post which was, by the way, shown to be false.

That is if you are really interested in seeing whether or not you are listening to those who bear false witness. (That would be one of the 10 commandments that is in the bible)

Then answer that question I asked you so long ago. How many angels were at the tomb?
I have nothing to say to you. I will continue to ignore you. You like to throw in personal attacks and change the direction of threads when scripture is unfamiliar to you.

Ignored

Just thought I should let you know

I didn’t make those posts up. I copied and paste them. I’m not the one bearing false witness. Although if the CC has something to hide then that’s not my fault. I presented it to you.

You know, you keep saying asserting that the Catholic Church says all this stuff but you never have any documentation to back things up, only your own opinion. WHERE exactly in the Catechism does it say any of the things you claim it does? Where are these things 'taught?"

And from where did you copy and paste? Can’t you make up an argument yourself? (this is not a ‘snark’, it’s a real question.)

If you copied and pasted it, why did you? Because you believed it. . .but it’s false. WHY did you believe it?

Why are you making accusations about the Church without any kind of documentation, just a vague 'if the CC has something to hide". . .what do you THINK it’s hiding? What is your source to bolster your claim?

Refer to post 31, are those things not what you believe/take part in?

Apparently without checking to see if they were accurate, first.

Apparently, you’re just a middle man, passing it along.

The CC has nothing to hide. 🙂
And you know this without any doubt? If so, there’s no point in you posting, right?

What do you think the CC has to hide, and how does it have anything to do with me posting, or not?
If I tell you, you will attack me and so will about 6 others, which is too many people to talk to at once. If you want to talk to me, pm me.

That list? The one that said we Catholics believed that death was sleep? (No we don’t) and that the Pope’s title was 666? (no, it’s not) Yikes. And you may not find evidence for the Eucharist in John 6 but not only Catholics but Orthodox do, and have, for 2000 years. Maybe you just missed it?

How about addressing the fact that your original quotes were false and where you copied and pasted them from?

This is an internet FORUM. That means that when people post, other people can respond. There is no limit to how many people can respond. That’s why this is a forum.

Come on now. Open up another thread if you want to make an assertion, since your original assertion on this one has been shown to be based on **false information.

**

We’re more than willing to wait patiently while you address the ‘6 people’ who will address you. Um, nice way to already assume you’ll be ‘attacked’. I don’t think that any person has ‘attacked’ you personally, have they? If so, tell the moderator.

Is it in the Bible?
You know what is in the Bible? The origin of “The Catholic Church” in the ORIGINAL GREEK TEXT OF THE BIBLE:

In case you don’t have access to a copy of the original writings of the Bible, Here’s a pdf file of the original Greek Acts of the Apostles:

If you would put your money where your mouth is and, “stick to the Bible”, you would stop trying to attack the Catholic Church with lies from weird websites and quotes taken out of context from the Bible. The Catholic Church knows how to translate and interpret scripture. What exactly qualifies you to do it better? Why is your interpretation better than ours and why do we have to take yours, when ours has been around since the Bible was written?

That said, the Apostles received direct instructions from Christ Himself, who instructed them to preach everything he taught. The Apostles spread His teachings, as promised by the help and protection of the Holy Spirit. Part of that promise was the fact that even though individuals may may mistakes, the Church cannot. The Apostles then appointed pastors to govern different regions. The Catholic Church is the only Church whose pasters were direct successors to the Pope and prove it by pointing to Matt 18:18-20 which reads:

18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. 19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

We look to the scriptures for proof that though individuals can become corrupt, the CC cannot. It was afforded that Grace uniquely in Matt 16:18,19 and 1 Tim 3:15

**Matt 16:1819: 18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. and **

**1 Tim 3:15
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. **

If you were following the Bible, you would find your way to the Truth, which is in the Catholic Church.

Now, I don’t mean to be rude, but I know what’s next: I know, instead of reading the Bible and following it, you’re just going to argue about how you think the Catholic Church is wrong, post more verses taken out of context or post some nonsense you found online from non-reliable websites. It’s really all you have, isn’t it?

Sooooo, is it just me or did he just run away from his thread kicking and screaming? :knight2:

=Truth Seeker123; 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Mark 2:7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
“The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, he is Jesus Christ himself, hidden under the veil of flesh.” Catholic National July 1895.
“We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty” …Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter of June 20, 1894
“The Saviour Himself is the door of the sheepfold: ‘I am the door of the sheep.’ Into this fold of Jesus Christ, no man may enter unless he be led by the Sovereign Pontiff; and only if they be united to him can men be saved, for the Roman Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ and His personal representative on earth.” (Pope John XXIII in his homily to the Bishops and faithful assisting at his coronation on November 4, 1958).
Should the Bible be tossed aside to fit these statements?
Anyone is welcome to give feedback.
Dear Truthseeker,

Allow me to share some TRUTH.

The Bible was completely written before the end of the First Century, when there was only ONE Christian Church, that we know today to be the Catholic Church. Therefore the BIble had to be written for this Catholic Church, as no other options existed.

Latin Vulgate John 20: 22- 23

"When he [Jesus] had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: **23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained. " **

**King James Version (KJV) **

22 When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 **If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” 23 Whose soever sins ye remit , they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain , they are retained **

***This is exceedingly clear and specific to the Catholic Church. As is verse 19 of Matthew. *

RSV Catholic Bible and the **"King James **Version (KJV)

19 I will give you [SINGULAR] the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you[SINGULAR] bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" **

***Yes Firend, ONLY God can and DOES forgive sins. This is Catholic Dogma! However ONLY the Catholic bishop / priest has th mandate and authority to determine which sins SHALL or SHALL NOT be forgiven and for whom.

Priest when assured of TRUE Contrition grant pardon with the WORDS: “I ABSOLVE* YOU OF YOUR SINS” … “go and sin no more,” in and through the Sacrament of Confession; one of the seven Sacraments instituted by Christ. ** God FORGIVES what and ONLY what His Priest authorize. And that friend IS IN THEE BIBLE:thumbsup:

You were seeking TRUTH and have found it! What will you now do about it?

Love and prayers,

Pat

Sweet! :extrahappy:

So anyway, let’s for the record point out that this poster in this thread has demonstrated a reluctance to do research before posting stuff, and ignores those who ask questions with uncomfortable answers.

Of not I asked him to answer how he reconciles a certain portion of scripture to his view and he informs me that scripture is unfamiliar to me (I’ve read the bible in its entirety on more than one occasion, and it is for that reason I am no longer a “bible believing Christian”.) He also accuses me of "personal attacks in a strangely personal attack.

To quote the late Sir Winston Churchill, “A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”
