When people don’t sing the pastor is going to assume they have a physical reason that they can’t partisipate by singing. No, they are not going to constantly be a “morality cop” they have plenty to do as a spritual leader.Elizium,
So based on what you have said, would you agree that every single person in every single parish who does not sing for whatever reason is sinning gravely, and every pastor in the world is also sinning for not informing them of this?
Why are you using “gravely”? Grave matter is one of the requirements of a mortal sin. Not all sins need to be grave matter to be sins. The answer to your question is NO there are plenty of reasons for not being able to sing. The question is why would anyone not partisipate as fully as they are able?
All this talk of “show me proof of this” and we continue to produce numerous offical documents yet you still call for more proof. It is a very paperless legalistic denial that you are putting up; not at all in the spirit of acceptance of the teachings of the Church.
It is up to you to be sure you are not sinning. As I told you before, explain this all to your confessor and leave it to him to say whether you are sinning or not. This is the only authority that should matter to each individual Catholic.
